I, for one, don't mind filler chapters, and this one did clear the air (albeit slightly)
Think about it:  without fillers, Inuyasha would have been over long ago…

"Think about it:  without fillers, Inuyasha would have been over long ago…"And that's a bad thing, how?

In response to comment #105:
Oh ye of little patience!
Well, for one thing, time is needed for proper character development.  Take for example, the recent Sesshoumaru-gumi arc.  If those same events had happened a few years ago, it might have seemed a bit forced and un-convincing.  And as for the Kikyou x Inu x Kagome triangle, now that was TRULY aggravating–especially when taking into account ALL the times Kagome had to prove that she's NOT jealous of Kikyou.  Even when Kikyou is dead (again), we (and Kagome) have to endure this this worn-out plot device (yet again).  BUT again, without it, there would not have been any character growth, particularly for Kikyou.  The first time she died, she passed away with nothing but hatred and rancor in her heart , having been duped into thinking that it was Inuyasha who killed her.  With this second passing, she went on her way to face the gods in a much more peaceful state, having grown in character as well.
I will also say that it's unrealistic to expect Inu's feelings for Kikyou to evaporate so quickly.  She was murdered twice by Naraku.  Kikyou will always be somewhere in his heart:  she's his first love.  And knowing that Naraku has and will countinue to come after Kagome in the same murderous manner, doesn't help the situation.  Now that he has a chance to grieve properly, Inuyasha should be alright soon.

That doesn't really answer my question.

Simply:
It's a bad thing if the story ends too soon, without character development. You end up feeling unfulfilled. And the story ends up looking like crap. Which is why you need fillers. To extend the storyline. To provide the characters with the time needed for personal growth. It's very important not to pull out too early. You know, like sex. Timing is everything.

If it's filler, then there's no character development. Besides Inuyasha drags things out way too long.

Sure there was character development. Inuyasha learned that:
1) It's best not to keep problems bottled up inside
2) He's not the only one that's suffering because of this situation (which is something that Sango could stand to learn, as well)
And how can you say that Inuyasha drags things out way too long? What about Superman & Batman, both of which have been around since 1938-39, respectively?

Those are constantly retconned. Not to mention it's not the same old shit over and over again with them.

Not to mention Batman has more than one main villain and they are all far more interesting. I can't fucking stand Naraku.

Point taken…
So what are saying, exactly?
That you would like Inuyasha to end, totally or that you'd like the current storyline to end, and another one to begin?

Either one would be fine.

What I really want is more Sesshy action, since pretty much all of the chapters featuring him are excellent. I wouldn't mind Inuyasha group getting permanently pushed to the sidelines.

In response to comment #115:

So true…
But the series is called Inuyasha, not Sesshoumaru.
And if on some misguided whim, RT does away with Big Brother, how many many fans do you think would still read Inuyasha? Not many, I'll bet.

I agree with you there, Hon. If she EVER thought to kill of Sesshomaru. There'd be hell to pay from quite a lot of loyal Inuyasha fans.

Hi, I'm new by the way, and I did count this chapter as a total waste of time. There were so many other more interesting ways for RT to heal Inuyasha's wounded heart.

Hi Irene! heh, I'm new too.

I guess I was one of the few people who actually liked this arc. Sure the villain sucked, but it was just a quick way to get Inu to move on. Also, it wasn't just about him..I'm glad Kagome's pain was mentioned for once, and it makes you wonder what she wanted Kaou to shut up about. She fought her inner demons at Mt. Azusa so it wasn't that. Maybe she didn't want Inuyasha to know she was a little happy Kikyou died (Of course feeling terribly guilty for it) or something else? And despite the lack of squish, I thought it brought up some intersting things to think about regarding Inuyasha and Kagome.

If Sesshoumaru died I bet a lot of people would be upset, but people could and have reacted that way for many characters. Not everyone hates the IY gang.
