Inuyasha v51 ch501 "Kanryuu" (Backflow)

Just a heads up… The chapter sucks.

This chapter would be better if it were animated. All the more reason to pick it back up when the manga ends….if it ever ends.

Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse… it does. :( When reading this chapter, I couldn't help but think – has Rumiko lost her grip on Sesshomaru's character entirely? And don't even let me get started on the outrageously sneaky way of Tessaiga acquiring all of Tenseiga's power – whether Sesshomaru is willing to abandon it or not. Eh…

Hmm…I didn't think this chapter sucked. I think both Inuyasha and Naraku have Sesshomaru wrong. Neither of them know about the character development that Sessho's been through. He's giving it all to trying to beat Inuyasha, because if he doesn't how will he know for sure that his brother deserves the power. It's almost a test of respect as well. If Inuyasha can beat him in a barr none battle, I beleive that Inu will have gained his brother's respect and Sessho will know for sure that his father meant Inuyasha to have that sword. Tests like this are so frequent in anime/manga I don't know why people are so confused by it….

Did anyone else notice how alike Kikyo and Sesshomaru look? I didn't until page 261. Just think of Kikyo gone dog demon. i tell ya, she would look just like Sessho, or since she's female, probably Sessho's mother.

The facial structures of Sesshomaru and Kikyo are quite different. However they have some similar expressions…makes sense since both ofter appear cold (at least outwardly).
Hmm…will tessaiga absorb all of tensaiga during the battle?

I think this chapter is ok! Nothing too much! Next chapter would be nice! How I ever hope Inuyasha able to absorb Sess sword and become an ultimate sword! But I wonder after that will inuyasha sword able to bring thousands of life with one swing or kills thousands with one swing or even both!

I also find this chapter pretty normal and logical. There are no new amazing revelations, but such revelation just cannot happen every single chapter. There need to be some continuity…

ya all and all I didnt think it was that bad either. I am confused about one part, maybe I just missed something. When Inu went demon what the heck was the deal with that dragon demon thing he was riding/standing on, did I miss something where did that thing come from? Or was it just supposed to be a symbolic thing about him going full demon or something?

I knew it, Sesshomaru was planning on giving Inu-Yasha his sword if he was able to take it from him. Sesshomaru didn't want to hold back and give it to InuYasha when he didn't deserve it, so he found this to be the only logical way to give Inu-Yasha his sword, but also keep his own honor intact. But who knows, we can't really know for sure until the next chapter.

It was an 'okay' chapter, but I'm getting sick of all these cliff hangers. XD

The chapter doesn´t sucks. It just doesn´t offer any further explanations. In a fight, there have to be some fight scenes. This whole arc reminds me of another one long ago, when Rin was abducted and Kohaku was ordered to kill her and almost did. Everyone was expecting Sess would kill Kohaku in retribution, and the only thing he ever did was to walk away stating he wouldn´t because he knew it was a Naraku attempt to use him. And that was… what… a couple of years ago? People get smarter, not blinder with time.

If Sess has no hidden agenda for this fight, and doesn´t snap out of this nonsense soon enough and explain himself with his usual smug expression, I´m terribly disappointed. Hope he will though. That he´ll loose Tenseiga because of this stupid confrontation he started himself… sorry, just not bying the scenario.

Once again, one can only wait.

ya I dont think Sess will lose the sword either. If he does lose the sword I think he will get something awesome in return. I wouldnt be surprised if Inu's sword became "complete" again and tensaiga transforms into a super powerful sword too. Just from the brief bits that it talks about their father and such it seems like he really cared for Sess and wouldnt just write him off by making him give up the sword ect atleast without something awesome in return. I also cant imagine Sess doing some cliche jump infront of a blast to save Inuyasha and then confess that he always cared for him type thing its too corny for his character. My predictions are that either at the end of this battle he will give up the the sword and gain some sort of new power or atleast knowledge about his fathers intentions for him "good ones" or that there is going to be some sort of they can share the power of the swords, eventhough the sword is in two pieces its still one sword type of thing and they will both gain power from eachothers sword.

Well, I can see why you said it sucks…just more crappy fat to tear through before we get to the juicy meat inside, basically.

I'm with Irene on this. This sort of character test happens in anime/manga all the damn time, so why is this so confusing? I guess I just haven't lost faith in that Sesshoumaru is merely using the trap as a means to test Inuyasha's strength and worthiness. And I'm not even the world's most rapid Sess-fangirl, to boot.

By the way, clever use of the dog/cat food scare, Starks! I loled. :D

the chapter is ok. nothing much. would have been better in anime form as its all about fighting. (just couldnt get over the picture of sess leaping like a toad and landing like a prima ballerina..micheal jackson would be proud).
but irene is right. no one knows what either sess or rt are thinking. sess just isnt the kind of guy to walk straight into naraku's trap without a solid reason.not being naraku's pawn is one of the most important things to him

Am I the only one that noticed that Naraku has still not reformed after Sango's latest attack…that seems pretty important to me. Maybe not as much time has passed as I thought.

Overall, I mean…i would think chapters that were a lot of fighting would be a bit boring…but, I mean…here is proof to us and Sess. that Tessaiga WANTS Inuyasha…so, I mean, let's go with it.

Just had another thought and came back to share…

I hate this "Sesshoumaru´s complying with Daddy´s decision on Tenseiga, but wants Inuyasha to obtain it´s power the hard way" crap for many reasons. For one, is it very low of him to use an object that would strip Tessaiga of all power when the fight would have to be equal for this to work.

Well, it´s been made equal now! If both can steal the powers of the other (Sess thanks to the shard, Inuyasha thanks to Tessaiga), it´s not a Kaze no Kizu against Tokijin, or Kongousuuha (sp?) against Meidou battle. One could reason that with different techniques, the outcome could depend on the sword each brother posessed. But now, the outcome is up to them and them alone. This fight will be won by the better fighter, not by the Daddy´s favourite.

Wonder if this is where the whole thing is leading. Seems a bit more honorable of Sesshoumaru (a valid reason to accept Naraku´s offer) and of Inuyasha as well. After all, he only beat Sess in the past thanks to Tessaiga´s awesome powers, which are practical in a hanyou-against-youkai fight, but hardly fair in a brother-against-brother honorable contest.

April 12, 2007 @ 9:40 am

Naraku's stated plan was for an angry obsessive and humiliated Sesshoumaru to vengefully kill Inuyasha for him. Sess has acknowledged seeing this trap, and dismissed it, but yet sees merit in the setup anyway. Our stoically inscrutable one-armed demon is up to something, and he had lots of alone time to think about it beforehand. If we suppose this is a Sess test, what is he testing for? I do not think he is actually looking for Inuyasha to really physically defeat him by way of some half-baked honorable self-sacrificing act on Sess's part, so is there instead some other indication Sess is waiting for that would show Inu has passed this particular test?

Rabid Inuyasha seemed much more coherent and more in control than in times past went he went full-crazed demon. Yes, he is still holding Tetsusaiga this time, and it is still responding to him in activated form. Indeed, the sword mysteriously seems to be recovering its powers back now that Inuyasha has transformed. Err, how is the sword doing that?

Sess in the past had been curious, even momentarily fearful, of Inuyasha's transformation, only to later dissappointedly deride Inuyasha for his berzerk lack of demon control. Surely, in the current no-holds-barred sword-absorbing battle he initiated, Sess must have realized facing a tranformed Inuyasha was inevitable. Perhaps his inexplicable intensity for the battle, for which both Inuyasha and Naraku have been surprised by its furiousness, and the closing off other potential outside options was deliberate. Is he really testing Demon Inuyasha?

And how again is Demon Inuyasha getting his sword's powers back? Going to just have to wait to find out.

(Oh, and Inuyasha getting the poison contaminated wheat gluten dog food…lol, best part of the whole chapter show!)

Woah! It's soo Takahashi-ish to end a chapter like this T_T
Anyway, when Inuyasha's Tessaiga began getting back its powers, I suspected something like this would happen (I mean Sesshoumaru throw a Meidou Zangetsuha to Inuyasha's way to see what would happen @.@).
I can't wait for the next chapter, and I agree with Tango, it'd be better animated, though I liked this chapter as well… the last few pages were the really good ones in my opinion…
Umm… but why Sesshoumaru wasn't surprised when Inuyasha transformed, though the younger brother's mind was still completely clear? I don't remember seeing Sesshoumaru already experience it… hmm… :/

I definitely think that Sesshoumaru testing Inuyasha is the logical explanation for the whole battle. When you think about it if Sesshoumaru realized the intention of the sword when he first accomplished a full MZ why didn't he take Inuyasha up on his offer for a battle. Honestly if Sess's objective was to kill Inuyasha he could have just done so by throwing the Meidou at him. The battle is definitely a pride thing. Sesshoumaru is well aware that Naraku has set a trap but he does not know that Naraku knows that he knows. (Sorry if that's confusing). I hope that Sess's plan does not backfire, but it really shouldn't as long as Inuyasha wins and takes on the MZ. I don't think that Naraku is planning on that! This also all goes back to Sess's contribution in the final battle. Will RT power him up by the loss of Tenseiga, let him drift out of the picture or kill him off completely. I hope that the last one is not the outcome!

(Quote)

Irene ShardaNo Gravatar

April 12, 2007 @ 12:13 pm

The other flaw in Naraku's plan, even though Naraku knows, that Sessho knows its a trap,he doesn't realize that Sessho is different from that last time the two met.
Naraku doesn't know that Sesshomaru doesn't want to kill Inuyasha anymore in a frenzied revenge battle, he doesn't realize that Sessho is really test his brother. If Sessho took away all Inuyasha's upgrades and other powers, would Inu find a way to get them back all by himself? Will he prove himself worthy by beating Sessho with his own power, and die a weakling? This is what Sessho wants to know.

I think that Inuyasha will prove himself in the fight, and will absorb Tenseiga, but he will also prove the strenght of his nature and will refuse to keep it. Or something will happen to Tessaiga and both brothers will get something amazing. Sessho will not leave empty-handed from this battle…

RT hasn't lost grip on Sesshoumaru's character. It's just that his fans can't seem to come to grip with the fact that he's acting like this since they've gained somewhat idealized visions of him. It's completely consistent with how she's written him.

That being said, I agree with the suck of the chapter. I also don't see how it's 'different from the mirror monster arc.' I really hate to see him figh in this form, so that's enough alone to make me hate the chapter.

actually inuyasha and sesshomaru should both hit each other, simultaneously, in the throats with the meidou zangosha so they will never again talk their lips off during their battles..or any battle for that matter, they'd have to just get down to the nitty gritty and fight wihtout talking for once hahahaha!
seriously though lets see how takahashi figures out a way for both of them to get the exact same sword..basically a conglomeration of tess/ten saiga. Then they would be like the wonder twins baby!

In truth I want Inuyasha to get both swords already, kill his idiot brother, kill naraku ded…and this time for good, then steal the shard out kohakus neck, jam the whole shikon jewel into his chest and become like his daddy…the biggest badass dog-god ever…afterwards he can get with kagome and pump out a litter of idiot half breed demons just like daddy used to be…thats a rap baby!

I think people defending Sessho are viewing this all wrong. Just because he is not enthusiastically teamed up with Naraku does not excuse his behavior. Yes, Sessho is not acting completely malevolently when trying to kill Inuyasha being he is, in part, doing it to test his worthiness to wield Tessaiga. That's different than murdering him because he is convinced he is not worthy, as Sessho did before. The Sessho fans appear to think it's a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!, I don't.

But that's besides the point. Even if there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!, that doesn't excuse Sessho's behavior. It doesn't even make it justifiable. It only makes it less condemnable.

But not THAT much less. After all, he DID accept Naraku's help on this one. Sessho literally made a deal with the Devil. Sessho fans seem to think that Sessho is right to test Inuyasha. Maybe. But that does not mean he can do so by any means necessary. The fact that he is willing to stoop so low, by teaming up with Naraku, says a lot about how selfish and destructive Sessho is for his angsty sword turmoil.

There is a big difference between having a worthy goal, and pursuing that worthy goal in horribly stupid and destructive ways.

It feels like Rumiko has taken all of Sessy's character development and flushed it down the toilet! He's right back where he was in season one. Working with Naraku (sort of) and trying to get the sword(sort of). I'm surprised that he didn't say anything about Inuyasha still having his mind when he's a youkai… Maybe he just doesn't care? Oh well, I'm predicting a major shortage of Sessy fans if this keeps up.

InuYashagirl234: No she hasn't! I really think people are confusing his development in regards to Rin and Kagura with InuYasha. Just because he cares about them doesn't mean he's learned compassion towards everyone. Far from it!

He has never stopped being vindictive and spiteful towards InuYasha, so there's no development being flushed down the toilet here. At best he's been neutral at a couple points, but never has he expressed any sort of remote positivity towards IY. So he hasn't tried to kill him for a while? He hasn't had a reason. Sess had his sword, and his power. But the threat of losing that has happened, and so now he's reverting back to his early series ideas.

KEL — It's worse than that, actually. Sessho stopped trying to kill Inu when he realized Tessaiga was the only thing stopping Inu from turning into a murderous, mindless killing machine. That showed a bit of compassion.

Now, on the other hand, he seems willing to destroy Tessaiga if he wins the battle, dooming Inuyasha and those around him to a rabid Inu-youkai. Sure, he might know that Inu can control his youkai form, but he didn't know that at the start of the battle (At least RT hasn't indicated he has), and has no way to know he can control his youkai form without Tessaiga in hand.

(Quote)

Shouki: You're right. Now it seems like Sess has forgotten that. Even if he did not want to kill InuYasha, by destroying both swords he destroys InuYasha.

IY's ability to control his youkai form depends on having tessaiga in hand. The excess youki that his hanyou body cannot handle is going into tessaiga and so his mind is in check. If he were to lose tessaiga here, he'd lose his mind. I do not think it possible for IY to control his youkai form without that conduit, simply put because physiologically it doesn't seem possible.

Man, when's resolution going to arrive? This chapter could have been half this length and left room for some new action.

I think the title of the next chapter is telling – I'm not sure I'm on board with the 'Sessh is testing Inu' camp – I think he's looking for proof that Inuyasha is destined to hold the power of both swords by forcing Inuyasha to prove himself capable of taking and controlling the power of both swords. It's a selfish motivation – an 'Oh yeah? Well let's just see about that' reaction. If Inuyasha is capable, then he will absorb the Tenseiga and Sessh will probably back off (but not happily). If Inuyasha isn't, Sesshoumaru will kill him.

There's very little of the brotherly about it – remember Toutousai didn't say Sesshoumaru had to care about Inuyasha to surpass his father, he just said Sessh has to let go of his anger towards him. Sesshoumaru will probably never care anything about his brother, and it's unlikely either of the boys will ever condescend to anything more than a delicate truce with the other. It's not in their nature – Sesshoumaru requires a long period of warming up to and gaining trust in someone before he's able to feel compassion (although mercy seems to be able to extend from that compassion to strangers, as it did in soul-purification scene in the Hell arc). Inuyasha on the other hand has too many bad memories of his big brother trying to decapitate him to ever really feel at ease around him.

On another note, speaking of gallows humor, Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday. Can we have a moment of silence, please, for the greatest American satirist since Mark Twain.

Mental Butterfly: Absolute total agreement with you. You totally hit the nail on the head in regards to what is happening here, and also in regards to IY and Sess's relationship. The only thing we're going to plausibly get from them is a relunctant truce. Sess won't allow anything but, and you can't blame IY for being edgy around him. There's not an inkling of brotherly love here, and no one has proposed that Sess needs to be a brother to IY. It won't happen if she stays within the boundaries of Sesshoumaru's character (which she has been doing) and ends the manga within the next five hundred chapters. Remember that in addition to having little regard for his life here, Sess said just ten chapters ago that he and IY were destined to fight each other until they die.

I see a lot of 'well they should put aside they're differences because they'd be so much better working together!' Firstly I don't see why this is even necessary. IY has a group of capable warriors he travels with, including one person who is debatably the most powerful character in the cast, excepting Naraku himself. If he can't get it done with them, he's not going to get it done. There is nothing Sess has that they don't have that could take out Naraku. Meidou? Might be able to send him to hell, but it wouldn't destroy his soul and that's the only way to defeat him for good. As we know from many arcs before, obliterating his body does nothing. He'd lose his body but his soul would remain in this world (most likely possibility, in which case he could just get a new one), find a way back because as we know from the meidou arc, hell is not inescapable, Or, he'd be reincarnated- which would just repeat the story over again. Secondly, it's just plain extremely unlikely. Sess flips out when IY even comes near him on the battlefield. He can't even swallow the slightest bit of help from the guy. Thirdly, if that were the case there would be no storyline about the swords becoming one again because they'd just team up instead. Clearly RT does not see it within their characters to do that, and thus is likely writing Sesshoumaru out of the story here since he'll lose tenseiga's power. Kouga lost his shards and left. Sess, the same with tenseiga.

KEL,
I tend to disagree with you completely. Inuyasha have been having full control over his full-youkai form for very long time and he doesn't need the sword for it. This is since the battle with Ryukotsusei. In the anime you can see Inuyasha struggle to get Tessaiga, but in the manga he just goes and grabs it.
This is how he surpassed his father, he overcomes his father youkai blood and lifts his own genetic curse. This is why the Tessaiga become lighter. Too bad animators didn't got it…

Next time Inuyasha loses control in full-youkai form is in the giant ogre stomach and it is because of the shikon shard corruption not because he cannot control himself. (He was holding the sword at that time ;)

I'm still not sold on the idea of Sesshoumaru leaving the story. It's already been implied that once he casts aside the sword and his anger with Inuyasha he can achieve true power. I feel that there will be a future arc about this. Besides, if Sessh leaves there will no longer be a supporting cast. All we will be left with is Inuyasha's group, Naraku and Byakuya. Besides, Sesshoumaru is not tied to the sword. He is not powerless without it and he will not remain without weapon of some sort if he stays. I was not a huge fan of writing Koga off right after he was powered up, and I would not like Sesshoumaru disappearing now. Besides it would be out of character for him to walk away. Once tennseiga is gone he will seek a new weapon, weather it is a sword made from his own fang (my theory of whats coming) or something else.

Snow: No, that's not true. Recall he lost control during 355-the Ogre's Rock incident. Despite the tainted shard, if he had control of it there he would have been able to keep his mind in line. However, IY felt himself losing it there. That's why he told everyone to run.

In the first few pages of chapter two of volume twenty, it is clear IY is completely feral. Honestly you can tell from his face. Conscious!berserk IY that we're seeing now is totally different in expression. Toutousai even tells everyone to run because he loses more judgement with 'each transformation.' It is that small bit of consciousness that he has in the few moments after he turns berserk that allows him to get tessaiga. This moment is probably something he's capable of through will power alone, but there's no way he could hold onto it for long. He's had this moment of consciousness before, and it happens again in 355. The Ryuko arc was not to seal IY's berserk form, it was to make tessaiga where he could once again use it

If indeed that were the case (what you propose), RT would not have waited until volume forty-nine to show us, almost thirty volumes after the Ryukosusei arc. There have been plenty of life or death battles between then and now. And not once in either of these arcs has IY let go of tessaiga, which I think can't be a coincidence.

Basically, if IY's youkai form were something he could tap into freely after Ryukosusei, it would have happened in the… thirty volumes between then and now and that battle as well as as 355 show that it's not.

Total agreement here, too. Kouga left, and now it's Sesshoumaru's turn, I don't doubt that. While a nice little brotherly togetherness during the final attack on Naraku would be nice to see, we should realize by now that it'll be Inu-tachi (more importantly, Inuyasha and Kagome since this series did start out revolving around them) attacking together in the finale.

The only thing still up in the air for me is Kohaku. Does he give his life to rid the world of Naraku? It's been implied that he has no qualms about doing so. So what do you do here? Does he die after his usefulness has run out or does he get revived by Inuyasha and his newly-acquired Tenseiga powers? Remember, a lot of people have been speculating for many years that it would be Sess who would save Kohaku in the end; that was the purpose for bringing them together in recent chapters (and for sparing Kohaku's life so many arcs ago). I'm still not sure which way that'll go.

Do you guys have any idea as to the amount of chapters Rin will be sobbing her eyes out if Sesshy dies?

Also, lets not forget about the rabid Fluffy fangirls who will send a hitman out to kill Rumiko.

KagomeKagome: *waves back( ITA. It will definitely be all about the Inu-tachi (and Kagome and Inuyasha mainly) in the end.

You've got me stumped on Kohaku. It's the one loose end I have no idea how she'll handle. I actually think he may live, but I have no idea what he'll actually be doing during the final battle or how he'll live. I don't think IY will acquire tenseiga's ability to revive, and even if he did- Mama said it wouldn't work, right? Kikyou implied that there was a way to save him, and as she doesn't know about tenseiga, maybe it's something miko related. It is Kagome after all who has been charged with him. RT has me totally clueless though, except for some vague theories, which isn't a bad thing by any means. It's nice to be totally surprised sometimes.

Starks: Sess exiting the story doesn't mean he'll die. Kouga didn't. I didn't even mean to imply his death. I highly doubt she'd have him die at InuYasha's hands. (But even if he did, she survived the Kikyou fangirls. I think she can survive the Sess ones.)

Fluffy fangirls are in a league of their own. Don't underestimate them.

Starks: I still insist that the rabid Kikyou fangirls are as bad, if not worse. I've never seen a Sess fangirl write a serious summary of the series that actually put Sess as the main character.

this was an awesome fight :) agree with those who wants to see this on anime. (Sunrise, you better start to warm up your studios ^^)
besides, in the next chapter we will know a bit of sessho's (and RT's) thoughts, and that will be intresting. ofc this could be a little weird, but i think (among others) its a test.
and i think that sessho will learn to respect his brother, mastering the completed tessaiga!
one more thing: do you remember movie 3 ? (best of the bests, imho) so somehow, sessho will get the world conquest sword (what was its name? i couldn't remember…), fater's ultimate weapon! GO GO GO!

Sounga, that's it. Only sessho capable handling it, toutosai's opinion.

Long time no see^^I'll just leave short comments.
It's quite sad that Sesshy seems to have forgotten Kagura&Rin.ㅠ_ㅠWhere's Sesshy in the Vol.42&48?
I think this time Rumiko-sang wants two sword to become one. It's too fast to happen…
I wonder Inuyasha could take MeidouZangetsuha(right?). Well, maybe he could^^

I definitely see Sessho exiting. I wrote this before, and it feels a little more relevant now: Sessho sinking this low, and his imminent defeat to Inu, is the perfect excuse for him to exit the series to focus on his own personal growth. Totosai said himself that Sessho can exceed his father once he "lets it all go." And we've seen Sessho being meditative — he was contemplative on a cliff when Byakuya approached him, remember?

I see Sessho exceeding his father when he makes a sword out of his own fang — but that will probably happen far into the future. Now, Sessho still seems far too self-consumed with angst and doubt about his father's legacy, anger at Inuyasha, and revenge against Naraku. All those things are beneath him and are stunting his growth.

As much as I would hate to admit it, I do think that Sesshoumaru is about to exit the story. I am among the fangirls, though not crazed as many are, who are willing to put the truth before my wants. I honestly don't see how RT would write Sess into the final battle. She seems to be trying to remove everyone except for the main cast. It's going to be hard enough trying to use the whole Inu-tachi to defeat Naraku when Inuyasha and Kagome will be the main two characters of focus for the finale.

As for the current battle, Inuyasha is going to absorb the MZ or my socks will fly across the room ;) If Sesshoumaru does not exit the story you can bet I'll be jumping for joy. However, these outcomes would only mean that there are more chapters, than I am hoping for, to come. RT has mastered the art of having characters exit gracefully (i.e. Kagura) though not expected. Sesshoumaru's exit is being hinted greatly ahead of time in order to give us fangirls time to come to grips with reality and enjoy his last hurrah! T_T OK I am one of those crazy fangirls who doesn't want him to go. STAY SESSHY PLEASE DONT LEAVE US RT ARE YOU READING THIS! :D

I still say that whether or not Sesshoumaru stays past this battle is dependent on whether or not he still wants to avenge Kagura – if he does want to, then he should hang for a while longer. If not, there's no reason for him to remain. He should have his story resolved, and then he should wander off into the sunset to go bake cookies with Rin or something.

I do hate saying that, because he is my favorite character, after all.

Sesshoumaru's intent is beneath me. Instead of fighting and possibly losing my powers, I personally would take my sword and head for the hills if it need be. After all, why take care of things with unnescessary violence?

God, why do people even bring up Sou'unga? Volumes 49 and 50 have already thoroughly disproved the non-canon facts presented in movie 3.

Which confuses me, honestly, because I had read on some damn site that she had worked with whomever on that script. Movie 3 was based on how she saw the past (with a few exceptions, of course), but I'll be damned if she didn't go and change everything, just when I was getting used to the idea of everyone's ages and such. I get over things such as this easily though. Eh.

So yes, why would anyone bother to bring up the sword from the movie when it should be obvious by now that the movies are seriously AU and should be enjoyed just for "fun story"'s sake and not "this is canon" sake.

Bah, forgive my grammar skills, please. It's late here. I hope that previous paragraph made sense.

I would hope that he would be true to his word to Kagura…when he accepted Tensaiga…and her spirit came on him like that…I hope that was a nod to his future intent to still avenge her death in some way. I think that he probably will exit soon…but I hope that arc/relationship is not ignored.

KagomeKagome: I'm not sure what interview you're talking about but the only thing RT actively commented on the movie was not to show Inupapa's face. She didn't even design Papa. The rest she said she left up to the writers. Just like every other anime filler, the third movie is 100% non canon. (Especially those ages. Ugh. >> )

Starks: Really the movie was disproved as far back as volume two, and also in the character book almost a year before the movie came out.

*Does not get all the third movie love. Thinks it's one of the worst and most OOC things the anime did*

Hm, it was either Anime Insider or Animerica where I got that from, Kel. Probably AI. They have a habit of screwing up information. They really screwed up this one because the way they wrote it, Papa WAS designed by Takahashi, and she'd even given the writers the age estimate. Geez, figures I read some faulty info from them.

Eh, the only movie I really liked was the first one, as it's more in line with the book/show, and well, I have to admit a soft spot for the kiss in the second movie. :)

KagomeKagome: Yeah especially if it's animeinsider. They are… speshul. I do remember an interview with RT from Animerica on the third movie where she said she kind of just lets the writers do whatever they want, and that she has very little involvement because of that. I have a feeling that being that they have been making anime of her work for almost thirty years now, she just doesn't care too much how loyal it is anymore. I mean by this point, why bother? XD

Absolutely on the first movie. It's such a cut above the rest. It's the only one to me that feels like an actual "InuYasha" (manga) storyline. The second one is cute/good, but not amazing.
