Go Inu, Go Inu! Make Naraku eat crow. I am so tired of Sess' prideful attitude ("the technique *I* perfected), taking a foolish gamble that may have profited Naraku. He's only lucky that Inu appears he's going to prevail and thwart Naraku's plans. The only thing good about his "test" is that he seems to be giving up his obsession over the swords.

The only character I pitty right now is poor, poor Byakuya. I say he should get a whole chapter or two dedicated to him at least atempting to screw over Naraku. Gah! If that were me, I'd finish off Naraku myself. Noone, but noone, sticks any part of them into my anything and gets away wih it! I'm happy Sess let go of the sword. Maybe that was dad's plan. Only if Sess threw away the sword could IY previal for his biggest upgrade. Well, I just pray next week's chapter is awesome, since it'll have to hold us over for a while.

Is it just me, or has Sessh completely forgotten about Kagura? I mean, she was the whole reason he got the meidou in the first place, and when he got it he decided that he would be the one to decide whether or not her death was in vain. Now, he just threw away the sword altogether… seemingly. His character developement seems to be going in reverse…

Well…not sure what to say or think this time. Sess was really starting to grow on me (has for the past year or so), but wow. This chapter…there goes some of that character growth right down the old hole to hell. Pity. Ah, well.

If this is a test, then Sess apparently does not really know what he is doing or how to conduct one. From Byakuya's initiation, to non-feral Inuyasha getting blasted, the Tenseiga tossing, and the dragon-scaled Tetsusaiga calling forth…it all looks like unforeseen happenstance rather than structured testing of a set of outcomes. Unless Father literally was meticulously prescient. Afterall, Father must have known his older wayward son well enough to suspect what Sess might do with the meidou when he found out he had to give it to Inuyasha. Father likely saw this confrontation coming and has already rigged it for them both, dooming us to a coming explanation in youkai technobabble.

Tenseiga is up in the air now…literally! I wonder where it will land. Meanwhile, back at camp…Kagome gets exasperated with Jaken as the Sango-Miroku Team beats them again at jan ken pon.

Doesn't seem like Sesshomaru knew what he was doing when he dumped his sword? To me it seems that he already accepted the fact that Inuyasha is supposed to have both swords when Totosai told him, it's just that he's still being emo/angry about it. I dunno he's hard to figure out that one…

Well, I hope Sessh is going to finally be satisfied – or as satisfied as he's ever going to be. Interesting, isn't it, that ultimately Inuyasha didn't have to take Tenseiga from Sesshoumaru – he gave it up of his own accord. Although I suppose it's necessary – in order to surpass his father, Sessh has to let go of his attachments, he can't have them forcibly removed.

One question: Why the hell does Inuyasha, a hanyou, have a huuuuuge mother******* youketsu, while actual youkai have youketsu the size of dinner plates? Seems odd.

And lastly, Poor Byakuya… he gets all of my sympathy for this week. Raped through the eye socket. Oy vey.

But as far as what people asking what Sesh will do not that he doesnt have the sword plz let us not forget that all and all "even with only one arm" he is still much much stronger then Inuyasha and he isnt completely weaponless, aside from fist to fist, or claw to fist combat i guess he still has his energy whip that seems to cut everything up it touches very lightsaber style

I think tenseiga will remain in hell. As Inuyasha's youki grows, it will absorb the meidu, and in this way Inuyasha will acquire the attack. The healing power will remain in tenseiga, and the tenseiga will remain in hell.

Mental Butterfly and Anonymous: It's because he's the lead hero in a shounen manga. He has to have an absolutely impossible and ridiculous level of power that makes no sense considering other mechanics in the series. So there's really no good explanation for it. It's one of those times you just stop and remember that InuYasha is in a magazine aimed at kids and preteens who want to see lots of ass whooping even if it's kind of wtf.

Ugh. I knew the Meidou was useless. It was far more dangerous when in its initial "crescent" shape; it actually tore through people. Now, though, it just opens up a door and pushes them through. I hated the full-blown Meidou from day one, and still do.

I have no idea what in the world is going on, by the way. Inuyasha is in hell. But no, he's falling into hell. And wait, he's in the Meidou! Make up your damn mind, RT. Is the Meidou a doorway, or a bubble? Either answer points to suckitude.

Sessho leaves with a very bitter aftertaste. And you better believe he's leaving; he can't do squat against Naraku without a sword, and in NO WAY is close to surpassing his father yet. He may begin walking that road, but that's all.

Ten dollars says Tensaiga hails Inuyasha a taxi to drive him back to Kagome. Or something like that. Inu has been talking an awful lot to Tensaiga, and I'm not such a fan of this sentient-sword undertone. Kagome better watch out; Tensaiga may whisper sweet nothings into Inu's ear at night. I wonder if it cooks for him? Seriously, it's a sword. "Tensaiga?! You want me to … to… speak up, I can't understand! What?? One more time!" He'd be institutionalized.

Byakuya. Naraku. Eye. Rape. Looks like RT is doing a "fan service" to some of the slimier fans out there.

Well I can at least attempt to give an explanation as to why Inuyasha has all of this youki at the moment. It's because he's 3/4 youkai at the moment so I believe his youki will be tremendously more powerful than if he were still in his half youkai state. But I can't deny that he's the hero and he's got to win every freakin' fight and surpass every freakin' body.

This was an intresting chapter, and I think Inuyasha is proving his worth. Like Sesshomaru, it seems he has to give up everything and stop clinging to life and just trust in the power of his swords. I think Sesshomaru's giving up of the Tenseiga was coming and that he was going to do it eventually anyway. Remeber in the earlier chapter, he said that if Inuyasha lost he would throw away both swords?

For all the adult themes in this comic the characters themselves can be quit childish. I have been waiting for these two swords to come together…but where is the sword sesshomaru had? He threw it into the black hole..I hope Inuyasha finds it before too long.
And sesshomaru has lost some of his cold-bloodedness IMO. He has turned a little emotional all of a sudden. In the comic's inception it seemed that he would kill his own mother if the thought crossed his icy-cold mind…now he is adopting stragler humans, bickering over material objects, even thoguh they are momentos from his dad, and fighting like a little punk kid with his little punk kid brother.
But there's good news! Kagomae is still wearing a school girl uniform!
On a side-note: where exactly are the two brothers? Didn't they get splashed in alcohol or something from bakuya? how does that translate into them fighting cliffhanger style on the tops of floating islands?
The tentacle in bakuya's eye was what that basid deservs! Co-plotting destruction with the lord of evil has but one consequence: get eye raped by your punk boss! haha
I can't wait till these two swords fuse and Inuyasha beats the living beatings out of his punk brother…it's been a long time coming and it will taste realllll good when I see sesshomaru bleed. Blades of blood on your eyes ya one-armed booze-hound! haha

Wow, Sess chunks the sword and IY sees the light! I am not completely shocked by Tenseiga's release. RT hinted it already and Sess meant what he said though it was a test. Though, in this case, he probably released the sword too quickly for thinking that IY was done for. He obviously thought that once IY was sucked in it was all over. Sess is now trying to evaluate the situation by seeing IY's youki grow. He is now starting to really realize that Inuyasha is the successor, hence the name of the new (spoiler)"Black Blade". Sesshoumaru is probably bound to exit but I think RT still has something up her sleeve for our deadly, but loveable, demon. If not…uh never mind :/.

The whole Naraku using Byakuya to see better situation was actually the most shocking part of this chapter. EEK! How GROSS is THAT? Father sticks his tentacle{or whatever} in his child's eye socket!

Remember, Sess intended to discard tenseiga win, lose, or draw. Tossing it in the meido was the closest he could do to throwing it in the trash. I get the feeling he expected Inuyasha to "win" from the start. He doesn't seem to test out his theories unless he is going to be right. He generally seemed disappointed in the instant it appeared Inuyasha was not the successor. The fact that Inuyasha's yoki is overwhelming the meido is the proof that Sesshoumaru was looking for in the first place.

Sesshoumaru will be fine without the tenseiga. The whole point of throwing it away was that it was a crutch (as Totosai implied), holding him back from reaching his full potential. Up until now he has been a spoiled rich kid, relying on his inheritance and fathers legacy. Now he can rely on himself and begin building his own legacy. We will see how this plays out. While he may not take part in the final battle, hopefully RT will see fit to give him one final arc, and allow us to see all of this happen.

Sesshoumaru is definitely headed toward some kind of character development. I say some kind because everyone views his development in different ways. Whether the sword throwing was planned or just a disappointed reaction it's definitely out of HIS hands. Let's see what his reaction is to having no control. Poor Thing's without a useful battle weapon. Naraku may see an opening though it may not have been a part of his plan . Let us hope for Sess's well-being!

yeah but his character was developed already and remikos develiping him to in a sudden change him into a completally differant character, not buliding off the one she had allready created. its like she created something compleatly differant. i dont see how a character can become another on the dime. it makes no scence to any character development its compleatly out of character, unless she is making him go insane which im thinking is the case. if she intendes to make him go mad than this douse make scence, which i do believe is whats going on. but that wouln't be character development if would be not developing further but more creating a new personality of someone who is mad. i think she decided to make him go mad. not to develop his character. i also think maby one reason for his insanity and what made him snap is his beliefs with his fathers intentions. he fells he has benn regected and lest favored over inuyasha and he has anger and not understanding over that. i think what would help him is to confromt his father which i think is what he wants to do but cant because he is dead. maby thats the reason he is mad because he wont get his fathers answer. all in all i think thins madness all comes down to the relationship he had with his old man.
