I would prefer the quality over speed.  A day or two doesn't matter to me.

BTW, off topic. There is a post on  the inuyasha blog from Japan that needs Japanesse Raw for the chinese site if anyone could help them out it would be awesome. Even if the only thing they might be able to do is respond to the post I think that would be cool. (Never hurts to make a new friend).

I only hope the Manga 510 and 511 came out soon. Many Inu fans will be very interested in it especially in Chapter 511 where Kagome get to know from Hitomiko that her Spiritual powers is being sealed most probably before born. It ends with Kagome guessing if Kikyo seals her power. Very very nice chapter. I look forward for next chapter.

I vote you do whatever sits best with you as a provider of scanlations. After all, it's gotta be kind of boring producing scans that are nearly identical to the others, if takinf the time to use your own high-res scans lets you put your own stamp on your scanlations I say do it. (And having high-quality chapter scans would be nice for us the consumers as well, naturally.) Personally, it's not about how fast the new chapter comes out, I choose this site over the others because I like the community here - after all, with three sites and three nearly identical scanlations provided the decisions that result in favoring one over another become more abstract.

Speaking of chapter 510, did anyone else like how Kagome's tearing off Hitomiko's hand recalled how she tore off the centipede woman's arm when she first used her spiritual powers? Seemed kind of appropriate for some reason, but I've been awake for twenty-two hours now and I'm in no condition to think it through.

My husband and I look forward to reading Inuyasha on your site, and a couple of days wouldn't make great deal of difference to us. Frankly, It is probably a lot of work for you so we would hardly be justified in grumbling. Yes, it is quite redundant for three groups to produce essentially the same material weekly. You are doing us a favour, and if you can produce something you are proud of and not have to dedicate every Tuesday night to it, it would be worth it.

i'm all for having your own original work with the scanlations.  as far as the waiting an extra couple days, it really shouldn't matter.  after all, it's not like it's making the time between chapters any longer.  so it comes out on a different day for all of your faithful readers.  whoop-de-do.  i, for one, am very excited to see high quality scans that you make yourself.  kudos to you for being willing to put in the extra work for the sake of the manga… and for our enjoyment!

I can give you all a 100% guarantee that 510 will be released before the week is over and a 80% guarantee that 511 will be as well.

Mental: Heh, you're not the only one who likes the community here ^_^… I wouldn't trade it for anything. Other than the people at IIFJ (a good deal of which also post here), I can't think of any other mature Inuyasha site or community on the net. Nothing depresses me more than visiting other sites within the Inuyasha scanlation community and see nothing but fangirling (I don't hate fangirls!!!!!).

Kynareth: I will be back home in New York for the second half of July and all of August so for those weeks I may have the opportunity to take a train into the city and personally pick up Shonen Sunday at Kinokuniya for a Tuesday release. Also, all raws will be available for download. No more secretive shit.

Starks, I think I've said it before. Do as you wish. These who can't wait would still have their fast-scanlations, these who want quality would have it. 

I really want you to try to make a better quality scanlation, at least to see if that would make difference.

I've heard that  Shonen Sunday is printed on really low quality paper (lower quality than toilet paper) meaning that having bigger resolution would not be enough for getting better quality, there still would be a lot of work cleaning it up.

So, give it a try.

If you take a look at the early chapters (456 through 466), you'll see that it isn't as bad as you say. Besides, a little cleaning does go a long way. My scanner is not even a year old.

I'd also like to add that it's not "what [I] want"… I'll do whatever the fans want. If they want fast scans they'll go elsewhere, the market is already well satisfied. If they want quality, they'll get quality. As much as I wish to satisfy both parties, I honestly do not have the luxury of time or energy to do an LQ and an HQ scanlation, it's tedious enough doing one. Besides, doing two versions has never been a convention of wise scanlating. At any rate, if there is enough backlash, I will go back to doing things as I've done them before or bite the bullet and do 2 releases.

As a final note, look at the top of your browser, what does it say? "Freelance-Manga: The Best Inuyasha Manga Scanlations"

I've used that as a subtitle for months and I believe, in my humble opinion, that I have yet to sufficiently deliver on that promise…

Both 510 and 511 should be out later tonight.

510 will be normal. 511 will be HQ.

Just a heads up though, my scanning and cleaning skills will improve as the weeks go on. Don't expect anything too spectacular with 511.
