I am going to stick by my previous estimates regardless of what is happening now.  TAKING ALL BETS!!!  Chapter 600 is when this all wraps up at the earliest.  I think because she completely shit on the ending of ranma 1/2 she is gonna take her sweet ass time wrapping this up.  I could be completely wrong and Naraku dies next chapter.  Wishful thinking I know.  I think that Takahashi has conditioned us though.  So many years of us seeing the same shit over and over.  So many installments where Naraku gets away and all the shennanigans start anew. 

   I guess I'm frickin pavlovs dog over here.  I see Naraku centimeters from the end of his life yet someone feel in my gut that he will slink away and somehow scrape by.  Takahashi has made us into her guinea pigs with this shit. 

    I would not be surprised if Inuyasha was created on a bet.  Here's how the bet would have started:

Takahashi (hereby known as Ace) is sitting at a bar somewhere in Japan…boozin it hard with ol' captain jack.

Boozer:  Ughhh! (falls onto the bar competely wasted)  Gimme a double shot of jack!  DO IT!

Ace:  Wise decision.

Boozer:  It's how I roll baby.  So what's your deal…those bottle-cap lenses just for show…or do you think I'm dead sexy?!

Ace: (Now thoroughly confused…)  Ummm…I'm an author.  I can see you be a booze-champion…

Boozer:  Buuuuuuuuuu!!  ;Translation: What's got you drinking?

Ace:  My readers are getting annoyed at me cuz I feed them the same line of bullshit every week of their piteous lives…they're probably going to crucify me sometime real soon…real soon…This thing is over 500 chapters already with no end in sight… (kiks bak the jack!)

Boozer:  BUUUUUU!!! ;Translation:  Next one's on me!

Boozer:  I'll betcha they burn your house down before you get to 600 chapterz!

Ace:  I'll take that bet!

These chapters are so short RT just wrap it up already! (but make a really nice ending though)

To tell you the truth, I think that RT doesn't know how to end the manga, and is just waiting till we all hate her and the manga inuyasha until she comes up with a proper ending!

I would love to see the manga end kind of a sad ending in the feudal time and then have Kagome meet her classmates in HS that happen to remind her of Sango Miroku and of course inuyasha. But thats just a little unlike RT.
