What an intense chapter I hope all goes well. Interesting to see Sesshomaru try to go after Sango to rescue her. I am surprised that Naraku would gain power from Sango and Miroku's love even if they despaired. They are together and willing to stay together no matter what. You would think that kind of love would weaken Naraku. Can't wait for next week!!

What I find humorous is that in practically any show or book, just when all seems lost, that's when the good guys get their final, super power-ups…I just hope Naraku isn't instantly KO'd by Inuyasha's new found strength or whatever…I'd like a decent battle between the good guys and Naraku in his new form he just made for himself…I mean, geez! The guy just got dressed! I want to see what he can do!

wow… i was actually crying the whole chapter. Sango is just such a strong character and i just love everything about her… just hope nothing worse happens to her. Miroku… oh Miroku… why are you so awesome? no but seriously this was a little too intense for me especially the way he jumped off after her. SO DRAMATIC!

as for the joke, i haven't read any inuyasha fanfics as of yet, but during my time as a xenite (when i was younger) i read a lot of xena fan fiction, so i can totally appreciate jokes at the expense of fans who want to see random and uncalled for hook-ups. (like gabrielle/joxer, if anyone knows what i'm talking about.)

(actually, it was a fond reminiscence of xena that first got me into inuyasha… remember that adult swim commercial where kagome was constantly in trouble, calling inuyasha's name, and he's just calling back to her? that reminded me of xena and gabrielle. if you watched the show, you'll notice the dynamics of the xena/gabrielle relationship are very similar to that of the inuyasha/kagome relationship… but i'm tangenting.)

anyway, thank you to starks and patches who so graciously let us continue the story. if it wasn't for you guys, i'd still be pissed about the anime ending in that lame way, and even more pissed that i had to wait to read the next few chapters of the manga to see what happens next. although the chapters sometimes leave me frustrated, it is nothing compared to what i'd be feeling without being able to read them for months, years, or however long… so you're efforts are greatly appreciated.

This is starting to piss me off.  Ignoring, for now, the fact that the final battle is dragging on and on and not getting anywhere, AND Inuyasha's about to get another powerup (just what we need), sensei seems to be forgetting something.  And that's her MAIN COUPLE.  For the last several chapters, all we've had is SangoXMiroku.  Seriously, it was fine for a while there.  I was all worried about Miroku, and stuff.  But now it's getting ridiculous.  Since when are they the main couple here?  The fact that I've never much liked the couple aside…seriously, it was fine for a while.  They've got lots of fans, and that's fine too.  But come ON already.  I wish sensei would just get their storyline wrapped up and move on.  Sure, I want them to have a happy ending and all.  That'd be great.  But, soon, please?  And another thing…if that pathetic little scene where Inuyasha transformed back because Kagome's spiritual power purified him was the InuyashaXKagome couple's "resolution," I'll be even more pissed.  He caught her when she fell off a tentacle…thing.  Big deal.  How many times has that happened?  I'm talking a real resolution here!  That could've worked, but no.  No romance.  Nothing.  Which, again, would be fine if she wasn't totally playing up the SanXMir stuff.  Just, Inuyasha and Kagome had better get a real resolution before this series is over.  And I'm not talking one of those "let's just look at each other for a minute here, then walk away, smiling" moments.  That's nice and all, really.  Very nice.  But I want an ending!  They are the main couple!  Come on!

 Anyway.  I'm ranting, and I'll stop.  I still love you, sensei.

I actually cried. I think I would hate Inuyasha if Sango died; she's, like, my hero. She's so straong and loving and…UGH! I want to KILL Naraku!! If Inuyasha can't do it then let me at him!!! I'll do it!! I know it's a series and all but…I love most of the characters and I really hate Naraku. I cried when Sango told Miroku to take her with him. I don't want either one of them to die!! I don't want ay of them to die! Not even Kagome!!! (And I really, really, don't like her.)

For those of you who called sango suicidal…this is why she acts like she acts. THIS is why she does what she does. She's a good person who only wants to help and make peoples'-and her-life better.

I am crying right now. Poor Sango and Miroku. And Inuyasha getting all pissed! Thank you Inu-Puppy!!

I am so jaded at this point.  I almost caught a whiff of closure coming until Sesshomaru was cut off from the rest of the mob.  I have always entertained ideas that, in the end, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru would vanquish Naraku as a team.  I bet Inuyasha will Imbue Tessaiga with new powers…only to find Byaku standing in his way with the bladeless sword. 

     I can only hope that this isn't the same ol' song and dance that Takahashi oh-so-loves.  Heart-breaking drama, Naraku on the brink of death…only to be revived at the last instant, impossible decisions made in the heat of the moment.  I swear I would love to see Naraku vs. a chess super-computer.  Even if the computer were to bring him one move away from checkmate Naraku would just reset the whole damn game and start his shennagans all over again.  *sigh*

     I have really become fond of this comic I just hate to see Takahashi constantly recur the same themes.  Let us pray that this will be the last of her hijinx.

Well she's got to get the secondary couple resolved before she can focus on the main couple.  And the big issue with resolving InuXKag is the issue of Inuyasha's demon/human status, which likely can't be determined until after the final battle.

Personally, I am a much bigger fan of S&M's relationship, and that is helping me deal with the ridiculously dragged-out story. 

gingerbelle I was a huuuge Xena fan.  Have you ever noticed how many parallels you can draw between Xena and Sango?  All tiny little coincidences, but there are several of them.  I saw the same connection between the X/G I/K relationships as you did.

Personally I don't think Sesshomaru would be able to revive Sango and Miroku if they were sucked into the wind tunnel.

This is for Koichiyo. I don't think of Sango and Miroku as a secondary "couple". They are definately secondary characters but as a couple they are defined
and complete. Miroku and Sango are lovers they are in love, they have proclaimed their love to each other and have even made some "plans". The question is are they going to be tragic lovers that could happen because they are secondary characters (though I hope not). Inuyasha and Kikyo were tragic lovers. When Kikyo finally died for the second time Inuyasha in a way got closure. He was able to say goodbye to her opening the way for a possible relationship with Kagome. Are Inuyasha and Kagome "lovers"? Not yet, there is the chance, there are feelings but I think RT would like to keep things up in the air a while longer. Right now I would say they are comrads in arms. They are united to accomplish a task. In Kagome's case a Karmic task. Where RT decides to take them when the task is completed is what makes things so interesting.  Iolanthesong(Quote)

First time commenter. I tend to agree with Ginger and Koichiyo. I like the whole SangoXMiroku paring thing, really I do, but it's about time we show a little romance between InuyashaXKagome. Hopefully Ms. Takahashi is thinking that she needs to finally resolve the relationship of SangoXMiroku in order to finally move towards and cause a climax between InuyashaXKagome. At least that's what I am hoping for. I'm really interested to see just how Ms. Takahashi creates a different and more meaningful climax and resolution between InuyashaXKagome. Because surely she won't do the whole "half-way" eye lock and kiss thing with them as before. Oh no, Sango is about the meet her maker, but Sesshoumaru can always revive her with Tenseiga.  However, is that really a good thing?  Consider:

Sesshoumaru revived Rin and now she follows him as a devoted child.  Fangirls everywhere proceed to melt like butter and psychoanalyze the former serial killer's stolid nobility and inner loneliness.

Sesshoumaru revived Jaken, and the little green demon has expressed teary-eyed enamouration of Sesshy's dashing beauty and even snuggled into his Fluffy.  Hentai fans are both delighted and disturbed…how many times has Jaken somehow "accidentally bumped" into Sesshoumaru's muscular lower leg?

Sesshoumaru revived the panther clan, leaving them in awe, and it seems obvious that the Ice Panther Touran secretly desires him.

Sesshoumaru revived Goshinki's head, and instead of flailing about like any Evil Disembodied Head detached from Naraku, the demon allowed itself to be crafted into Tokijin and willingly obey as Sess's primary offensive weapon quietly tied tight to his waist.

Sesshoumaru just had to show Tenseiga, and the Guardians to the Gates of the Afterlife fall to their knees before him.  All he had to do was flash them his sword.  Freud would have a field day.

It is obvious…the Tenseiga doesn't just save lives, it also brainwashes them into loving Sesshoumaru.  If he uses it on Sango, she would surely succumb to its insidious seductive power as well, and SangoXMiroku fans will be howling.  "She shows courage in standing up to me; she is fitting to be this Sesshoumaru's mate and raise Rin alongside her brother.  However, the cat will have to go!"  Eeep!  How could the monk compete against all that long bishounen hair?  Maybe if he joins that Saiunkoku harem he can at least still have her voice, hehehe (I sometimes confuse Sango with Shuurei, as they are the same English voice actors with similar men problems).

  I'm getting very sick of the 'look we're at the final battle!'  'HAHAHAHAHA nope!  Not even close!' thing that's been going on since *looks back* chapter 523.   I felt the same way you did during that scene.

 But on second thought there is a chance that Inuyasha is destined to defeat Naraku alone (or with Kagome), and in that case Sesshomaru's separation would be a step in the right direction.

I always felt that one of the most important recurring themes of the series was 'You are never alone', and I had always hoped that our heroes would all be in the final battle together.  But at this point it seems unlikely that S&M will rejoin the fight. 

(then again, that's what I thought 20 chapters ago)
