Actually, by introducing doubt, they're hoping to soften Naraku up. Did you check out the "stone" effects on his face and body? Maybe with enough doubt, the "wish" will be unclear and the jewel won't absorb completely. (?)

It looks like Inuyasha inflicted some damage, but it won't be enough yet. (Meanwhile where is Byakuya and what is he up to? I would love to know what he's going to do with that sword.)

I wonder what his true wish was…

I was trying to extrapolate based on what Kagome was saying and when Naraku reacted but the only thing I can come up with is that Naraku will become the tragic character of the series. Something will be revealed about his past when he was a human, some painful experience he had where he lost someone important to him or his heart was betrayed somehow, and that will be his reasoning for why he's done everything he could to spread misery to others.

I have this inkling that even though we all despise him now, we'll end up feeling bad for him in the end. Kind of like Kagura and Kikyou. We all disliked them at one point, but by the time they died they'd redeemed themselves and we cried over it. Though the thought of shedding tears over Naraku's demise doesn't sit well with me, it would be a pretty fantastic ending.

EMV: On the Kagura/Sesshoumaru relationship: I think Kagura's death happened when the Ice Prince was just beginning to thaw and discover he did have feelings.  Actually, Naraku's real wish is what will put an end to this plot, that's what I feel. We haven't heard the true intentions and feelings of Naraku, that's the most interesting thing to me.

Well Sesshomaru was blocked by icky body parts of Naraku so that he couldn't follow Sango. But Seriously, Sesshomaru is quite strong, you'd think he'd break through it eh?

But I am very confused. Unless my memory is failing me or I completely missed something. What was Inuyasha's power up in his tensiga? Because I sure don't remember anything.
