I've been following the "Inuyasha" manga for about 9 years, and it's been over four years since I followed other mangas/animes with any religiosity.

Mainly due to introduction of "Inuyasha" on Cartoon Network, you'll never see me at a con or wearing the insignia of fandom. Some things really are better left in the closet.

@ inuyasha_lover: What that means is that VIZ will have translated all the japanese comics thusfar to english by 2014. In reality it may not take them that long but if you look at how far along they are with the manga now and how long it has taken them to come this far it may take another year or two to be up-to-date with where the comic is present day. That is, if they hold to their promise to increase the speed at which they come out with new volumes.

What's the April 2014 mean under the "Status of 548 VIZ"? Did I miss something here?

It's longer than that. I think Takahashi first got it published in 97 or maybe late 96. I think it was more like a pilot in 96 and it got accepted and published more often in 97. So 11-12 years since it's birth and we still haven't gotten our closure For the hardcore fans in America I could safely say that they have been following this manga for at least 10 years. I think her next longest work was ranma 1/2 and that only lasted 8 or 9 years. And she botched that ending so this time around she is probably going to do things right…hopefully.

I'm so glad there are other adult manga readers and anime watchers out there I feel like we need a support group sometimes…something with the motto "Yes I can be a succesful, well adjusted member of society and still watch anime!" I really hope my kids are into anime…*fingers crossed*
