Man, does any one get the feeling that Takahashi is REALLY starting to run out of ideas (I mean TRULY)?  These previous chapters seem like nothing more than drawings to depict the chapter title (am I making sense here?), or further stating the obvious rather than moving forward.  Next thing you know, they'll literally be discussing FALL!

Let's face it, this manga isn't ending any time soon. The simple fact that Miroku's air rip partially healed is proof enough. I have the feeling that Rumiko will milk this until pigs fly… and I'm not complaining about it

I have a serious question for all the die-hard anime/manga fans:

What are the top five most degenerate/hardcore anime you have ever seen?

What are the top five degenerate/hardcore manga you have ever read?

Is Inuyasha in either of those top lists?

I ask this because as I was thinking over all the hardcore storylines I have seen or read I keep thinking about how "softcore" Inuyasha really is.  In a seemingly vicious land where nearly every recent encounter with demons has proven to be nearly lethal for every member of the A-Team they are still quibling with petty emotions…they can't get along with one another…they can't admit love…hell they can hardly work as a team half the time.  Zero communication. 

Besides reminding the readers that they existed was there any reason to bring Kohaku, Rin, Jaken, and Shippo into Naraku?

     How long has this storyline been going on for?  Kagome was still in junior high when this all began.  Has it been a full year since she first visited the feudal era?  More?  In all this time you'd think a trained assassin (Sango) would impart some of her quasi-military training on these misfits and whip them into a grizzled combat unit.  You'd think that they would assuage their dissagreements with Sesshomaru (obviously the most powerful demon around in the known world along with Inuyasha and Naraku) and team with him to eliminate a common foe.

Word Feud has a point The more that i think about it this manga is to predictably softcore, and it should be taken a step further and have "core" taken out of the equation all together Softcore – core = "Soft". This should re-realse this manga threw disney, and the might continue the anime but I digress my prediction for "Fall"

Naraku will undoutbly die because of bakusaiga and a few low blows by Inuyasha & Co and the posin he is realsing on the village so vigrously like it was his legacy will be undone easyly by Sesshomaru and a swing or two from Tensaiga then everything is peace and rainbows sounds like some soft shit to me, predictable.

I thought the finale to this manga was gonna be big with Narakus death and A-Team fatalities and hints of conspirecy from a 3rd party but the happy ending is good to, after an infinite amount time of chasing Naraku. Oh well….

Maybe Sesshomaru will whisk Rin away in a chariot bound for the heavens and become a new constellation.  If you ask me he is going to take Rin as his woman.  Even though she is prepubescent the norm of that day and age was that men took young wives and started families early. 

It seems kind of silly to me that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's rag-tag band haven't allied sooner and formed an attack team bent on destroying Naraku.  For how cold and logical Sesshomaru is he is rather blind to see that he could at least temporarily utilize the strengths of a reincarnate priestess, his brother, a priest, and a demon assassin to vanquish Naraku.  But then again it falls into the cutesy theme of the manga that there should be petty bickerings constantly.

Feyd: I think up until this point Sesshomaru has been operating under the assumption that his power alone was enough to destroy Naraku and he wouldn't require assistance from any of the others. In fact, from the sounds of it it seems as though he's pretty sure his Byakusaiga (sp?) has enough power to own Naraku. He's proud and stubborn like that. He'll never admit that he needs help. Even when Rin died he refrained from asking his mother for assistance.

OMG, could this be the end. I would love to see what becomes of the whole gang. Does Kagome stay with Inyuasha, does Miroku and Sango finally stay together and tell each other they each other. What of Sesshomaru ends up getting his kingdom and what happends to Rin, will he take her as his wife when she grows up. What will happend to everyone when Naraku dies.

The Rin question is interesting, what will Rumiko do about her at the end.  It would almost be kind of nice if she grew up and married Sesshomaru but that's a place I don't think Rumiko will go.  She seems to be setting up a relationship between Kohaku and Rin.  In a way it gives Rin a way to return to the human world doesn't it.  Staying with Sesshomaru might not be a good thing for a human girl especially if he doesn't lighten up a whole lot!!!!  It could turn out to be an empty existance.  Think of the fun Rumiko can have with Sesshomaru's character if he has to let his little Rin go.  Will he admit he misses her? You know he will say "do what you want".  What happens when the answer is "okay, bye, it's been cosmic, a real slice, my Lord." I do hope she will address this and if she does, I can't wait!

I have to disagree there, Feyd. Inuyasha is definitely "hardcore". The adrenaline is always pretty intense. Whether it be from battles or our favorite love connections that are going on… I even remember being scared watching my first episode. We probably just got used to all of the blood, gore, and maximum battles going left and right.
I also have a feeling Takahashi-sensei has more up her sleeve. I don't think she'll end tomorrow's chapter with the final climax.   

I wonder why Starks never participates in all of these crazy predictions…Yes, sometimes it's absurd. But it's also really fun!!

First time commenting.  Hello and all that.  Simply wanted to say that it would be rather cruel of Rumiko to leave it off there, not to mention anticlimactic.  I'm hoping that Starks usage of the word "dubious" was more than just a hedge.  And somebody, Misskisshu, I think, brought up Kagome getting swiped by Byakuya's blade.  Good point.  Some resolution is needed there.  Wait, wasn't Byakuya's blade doing some mini replica of the meidu?  Wonder what that means for Kagome…  Eeek!

Many times have the characters been staring death in the eye and were still incapable of admitting their true emotions.  It's a huge run around.  Faced with certain death Miroku runs off, stupidly fearing for his life and the lives of his comrades.  They have travelled with him for how long?  He never thought of how his curse might kill him and everyone else in a large radius until the very instant of conflict?  And what about Sango?  Ready to have herself be killed by Sesshomaru even though she has something to live for.  Why did Takahashi bring three of the most useless characters into a fight that would decide the fare of the known world?  Rin, Kahaku, and Jaken farting around in Naraku just to be dismissed immediately…

    For all the adult content in this comic the characters act childish and engage in petty battles that are time consuming and irrelavent.  And they also seem unaffected by the lifestyle they lead.  I would think Kagome would have post traumatic stress disorder or some kind of anxiety disorder or be mentally grizzled by now but she hasn't exhibited any signs of mental trauma at all.  Not only that but her demeanor hasn't changed in the slightest since day one.  I just don't believe as whole-heartedly as I did that these characters are so believable.

I definitely agree with you as far as Inuyasha being pretty 'softcore' but I've realized that since the beginning.  And really, so far the only recurring characters who have died have been evil or Kikyou.  I never really suspected that any of the main characters would die, so I was hoping a few of the minor 'good' characters (read:Kohaku) would die in order to give the series a little more of a bittersweet, punch-in-the-gut, anti-fluff ending.  Of course it's not a 'hardcore/degenerate' series, but it's marketed to preteens.  What do you expect?

 I' still pissed at all this  'Oh no, the Kazaana is at its limit, I'm going to die… Nevermind it's all better now', 'Oh no, Sango poisoned the crap out of herself and is about to die… oh wait, all better!' crap. 

 But I think you're wrong about the character development.  I see similar situations repeating themselves, with the characters reacting differently. And I feel like I pretty well understand each character, and their motivations, and I'm never completely surprised by their actions.

I think Miroku has always been prepared to run off alone to die when the time came, he just didn't want to do that if he could avoid it. As for Kagome, her defining characteristic has always been that she is completely incorruptible.  No matter what evil she is faced with, no matter what she is tempted with, she rises above it. 

Sango's MO when faced with a difficult situation is 'act now, beat myself up later.'  Like attacking Rin to try to save Miroku.  She knew it was wrong, and that Sesshomaru would never forgive her, but she would never forgive herself either.  But she was willing to be killed because she felt that she deserved to die for her sins.  I know I pissed someone off last time I said she had suicidal tendencies, but honestly.  Read the things she says, look at the things she does.  She's been completely beaten down by the events of her life, her loss, her guilt.  Girl has issues.  Kagome rises above these things.  In a way, not changing is her character development.

To answer the time question I've counted somewhere around 10 new moons in
the series, and  we're still following Kagome's last year of middle
school, so slightly less than a year has passed.   (So even though Kikyou died well over a year ago for us, Inuyasha's really only had a few weeks to be 'free to love')  And we all know that the romance isn't going to be resolved until the action is resolved.

am i the only that remembers what happened the last time kagome shot an arrow at the jewel when it was complete… UM… some sick twisted fate its going to start all over again… not really, but wouldn't that be funny, Kagome breaks the ball and kills naraku and to continue with that dumb cliff-hanger where she never really finishes a story (Ranma).  Kagome and Inuyasha must once again collect the shards!!!!!!LOL leaving their fate unknown

Has anybody known how long does the team inside Naraku's body because I know this is only a manga and the caracters fictionaries and does not need food or drink to survive in spite of the fact that we have seen them eating, drinking and resting, but I have a feeling that this long battle between Nari and them is lasting a very long time and not only one day. Because how can they survive so long inside a youkai bathing in a load of shouki without drink, rest, and food.(and also Naraku mentioned that only thing keeping them alive is the will of the shikon no tama beause it needs their souls) :) But if the the other statement is the truth that they are inside naraku less than a day, than this is the big final battle that has everybody awaited for more than 10 year which takes place and end up in one single day. The big boss fight ends up like this. But if nobody cares how long does the events are takes places than those can enjoy the manga better. everything began with the shikon no tama and it is worth an end to it as well. And we can only just watch who is goign to fight the last battle the battle between the souls. Inuyasha-Kagome-Sessomaru-Miroku-Sango or all together. Everybody has a weapon which can slay youkais. Inuyasha's Meido blade(or maybe the final state of the dragon scaled tetsaiga bec the old man told Inu if he manage to figure out the true power of it the will posses the ultimate weapon) Kagome's holy arrow, Sessy healing sword(interesting to mention that Shessy was the one who cut apart Naraku's phisichal body by bakusaiga instead of Inuyasha who was the one that always figured out a way to strenghten tetsaiga to kill Naraku in the anime and manga as well) Sango has the upgradeed boomerang which dismiss the shouki and Miroku has the holy rod and exterminating spells plas the Kazaana which had to be disappeared when Naraku's body was destroyed by the hand or sword of Shessy but it is still exist so Miroku can use it at the and of the battle. (one more thing if Miroku has the Kazana now after Naraku's body has destroyed than why in the second movie it was disappeared when they killed Naraku even Naraku was in a cocoon. Never mind)
