I think something bigger than Kagome shattering the jewel will happen. The end of the chapter says something like, "What it Kagome's fate?" I think it'll be something either really harmful to her, or she'll be, like, the new soul of the Shikon no Tama. I don't know. But it seems something big is about to happen to her. Hopefully, Naraku's intentions won't only involve killing innocent villagers or whatnot. 'Cause that's just stupid and pathetic. I believe in you, Takahashi-sama! Give us something to work with, here! >____<;

First off-I have a good theory on where this may be headed.  He may be trying to get to either a) the time-well or b) get to Kikyo's grave before he completely dissolves.  The first explanation might be seen as a last-ditch effort to screw over Kagome a little bit more.  The second explanation could be the underlying theme of Naraku in general: an addiction to Kikyo (I can't really blame him since Kikyo was a badass chick who knew how to take care of bussiness).

    Secondly-Seeing Naraku's face get split in half (even though its been done at least a dozen times) still makes me happy.  P.S->  The line Sesshomaru delivered just before he performed that vivisection on Naraku's face=priceless.

    But lastly-I want to ask any Ranma 1/2 fans out there what their prediction is. 

     If history repeats itself (and Takahashi really loves reiterating past themes/events) then it is to be expected that this comic has been had failed for like ten years and Takahashi has done a bang-up job of hiding it.  If this comic can be concluded on such a petty note as this then I will have, truthfully, lost all respect for myself.  I say this because this will have been possibly the greatest bullshit story ever told and I fell for it.  I just have come to think that I have developed the ability to see straight through bullshit stories/lies…maybe I've just been deluding myself.

     My mind can not wrap itself around the idea that after ten years Takahashi's pen-ultimate goal for Naraku is to have him fall out of the sky on a nameless village in the middle of nowhere…  If Takahashi has any self respect left…if she has any dignity…if she values her readers…she will not end this comic in such a pathetic way.  I can't believe she would do it…but I've been wrong before.  For instance: I was wrong about Ron Paul getting the Republican vote.  If the space station fell out of the sky and landed directly on my chin I would be less surprised.

Oh So Shessy destroyed Naraku's real body with bakusaiga, but the shikon no tama is still exist. Neither tetsuiga nor bakusaiga can harm it. And Naraku's words: at the end this will be a battle of souls. The shikon no tama created when a mass of youkai and a miko fused and their hearts combined. I think Naraku mentioned this. The jewel didn't exist till the final battle has come between the souls of the holy miko and the evil youkai. So this will be Kagome's fate she has to fight her final battle. (what originally Kikio planned to fight when she decided to gave the jewel to naraku to purify him with it. But she couldn't achieve her goal for some reasons. This is why it is up to Kagome to finish the job what Kikio started.) Naraku's soul is now one with the Shikon no tama. It doesn't matter if his body is destroyed because his soul can survive inside the jewel as Magatcushis soul does. So the battle hasn't over with the destruction of Naraku's physical body, it is just begin. But we do not know jet what is Naraku's final goal. Or can I say what is the Shikon no tamas plan what it wants? To recreate itself again by combine Kagome's soul with Naraku's? To create a more powerful existence from itself. Naraku's and the shikon fate is now one because of their fusion. And only the future can tell what will await for the group. Just remimber Miroku's still has the use of Kazana witch hade to disappeared when Naraku is destroyed(or can I say Naraku's real body) but not because the tama and him is now one.

My prediction is that Inuyasha will be the one who defeats Naraku. After all, it is HIS story! The title is NOT "Kagome: A Feudal Fairy Tale" or "Sesshomaru: The Angry Youkai with a Soft Spot for Orphan Girls".

I don't expect an ending where they all get married and live happily ever after (at least not Kagome and Inuyasha). But I wouldn't be surprised if Naraku is beaten by Inuyasha with some kind of "last-minute desperation-move" and with Kagome's life in danger (probably caused by Byakuya's Meidou).

You think you'd be upset with youself if the ending turns out shallow? Heck, I bought all 36 Ranma ½ volumes even though I wasn't pleased with the ending (I don't regret buying them, though). Then I watched every episode, OVA, and movie of Urusei Yatsura. Only to end up disappointed again (it was better than Ranma's, though). And now, once again, I'm following one her stories. But not with the same devotion as with the previous two, though.

Omigosh…Inuyasha reading porn?!?!  The mind boggles.  Odd that this week all my heros pulled out the dirty books…I finally started watching the second season to Saiunkoku Monogatari, and the episode had Shuurei snooping into Seiran's porn!  Seiran reading porn?!?!  The mind boggles.  Btw, lovers of long white-haired bishie brothers will likely enjoy Saiunkoku.
I know Onigumo's cave and Kikyo's shrine are in or near the village, but isn't the real magical prize the Old Well and the Sacred Tree?  Naraku may or may not know the Old Well is a time-travelling portal, but the Shikon Jewel should know, as it has always had some inexplicable half-explained connection with the Well's magic.  Similarly, both of them may suspect the timelessness inherent in the Tree…absorbing eternal longevity would certainly be useful for an evil megalomaniac.  When Kagome fires her arrow, and Naraku unveils the real target in this deliberately chosen locale, bad things are sure to follow.
On the other hand, the bones of Mistress Centipede and the lesser creepy critters were tossed into the Well to seal their evil away forever in Magic Well Portal Space.  The Well may somehow figure into a useful trap, albeit a dangerous trap as Kagome has had nightmares of Naraku escaping into the modern world.  It's likely a trap only Kagome could close, perhaps if she could finally spiritually short-circuit the Jewel in there.  I'm not sure I like this idea, as that likely leads to Kagome trapping herself in one time or the other.  Maybe to lure in the baddies Inuyasha joins her as bait in the Well and they both live Happily Ever After in the future, or maybe she stays trapped in the past begging Sess to save an Inuyasha who sacrificed himself as bait for her.
Still, I am missing something…with all the soulful portentousness with which that scene played out, I still do not grasp what Kagome realized regarding Naraku's True Wish versus the one the Jewel granted.  The opening salvo in their final Battle of Souls started there, and this clueless fan is not sure how or what.
Meanwhile, in the last scenes of the final chapter, a bright flash appears in the wellhouse, and a shiny round object pops out from the well and lands on the floor.  Buyo, being ever curious, bats his new toy about a few times.  On the final pounce, the Jewel suddenly grants Buyo a Cat's Ultimate Wish…

There are worse things Naraku can do than just wipe out a village if he still has the jewel. Why don't he just manipulate Kagome into killing Inuyasha, and then Inuyasha saves her (with a kiss) ands they kill Naraku with her spirtual power of Love, AND then everyone is happy. ^^

with most manga ending as they begin, she'll shoot, the arrow will break it apart and off they go again on their journey.  na…. this one did start with a love story, and if the jewel is purified, won't she have to protect it? other demons would come after it like when kikyou had it.  unless rin can take it and sess protects it, he did look back at it not being harmed.  it took forever to kill off kikyou, there can't be enough episodes left to kill of kagome, but i do like the idea of the raging battle between the miko and demon in side the jewel.  kaede is a preistess, maybe she'll get in there.  what would make the jewel cease to exist?  something has to be done with kagome and the two worlds.

Okay, I'm going to venture a guess here.  First of all I strongly doubt Kagome will die, at least not permanently, she and Inuyasha must kill Naraku.  I think when she fires the arrow she will be drawn into the jewel with Inuyasha for the final battle.  After all she is Kikyou and this whole big battle started with Kikyou and Inuyasha.  As far as the "perfect wish" or the pure wish whatever I think it may be the original plan Kikyou had to purify the jewel by using the jewel to make Inuyasha Human.  It would probably take something that extreme to finally destroy the jewel.  Another possibility is what I like to call the "Wishmaster" ending.  If you ever saw the first Wishmaster movie which was pretty darn good.  The evil Djinn is defeated by the correct wish which has to do with subtly changing history (I wish the crane operater didn't drink that morning) getting to the event that started things rolling.  So maybe it will be "I wish Kikyou knew it wasn't Inuyasha trying to lure her out that morning" or something like that. Now that's an ending I would enjoy, Rumiko could get into all sorts of time stuff and Kagome suddenly finding herself in the well the day she first fell in.  I doubt Rumiko will do this but it could be fun. The bad thing about that ending would be (at least for me, aged fan girl that I am) we'd never find out what happens to Sesshomaru! Oh well we may never find that out anyway.

I think, that in the next chapter something is going to happen to Kagome – the point is, that Sesshomaru resurrected Kagome once – when she had been hit by Inuyasha. If something happen to kagome, Sesshomaru won't be able to ressurect her once again. Remember the chapter, when Rin was killed and he went to the hell to rescue her?  I wonder what's happen next!!

This battle can't stop right now – she has many things to give them sollution: what will happen with kagome, if every of shards will be gather – will she decide to go back to home in her era? What' s with Inu then? And what about Sango and hardly living Miroku?? And what about Shikon no Tama? Who will be protecting it? As much as I would hate to see it happen it does seem that Sesshomaru is the logical choice to sacrifice himself at the end.  It would be "shocking" and it seems Rumiko has been setting up Rin to join Kohaku.  Also his Mom hinted that he was like his father in this one thing (meaning Rin a little human). Maybe like his father he will sacrifice himself for a human.  Pity

Has anybody known how long does the team inside Naraku’s body because I know this is only a manga and the caracters fictionaries and does not need food or drink to survive in spite of the fact that we have seen them eating, drinking and resting, but I have a feeling that this long battle between Nari and them is lasting a very long time and not only one day. Because how can they survive so long inside a youkai bathing in a load of shouki without drink, rest, and food.(and also Naraku mentioned that only thing keeping them alive is the will of the shikon no tama beause it needs their souls) :) But if the the other statement is the truth that they are inside naraku less than a day, than this is the big final battle that has everybody awaited for more than 10 year which takes place and end up in one single day. The big boss fight ends up like this. But if nobody cares how long does the events are takes places than those can enjoy the manga better. everything began with the shikon no tama and it is worth an end to it as well. And we can only just watch who is goign to fight the last battle the battle between the souls. Inuyasha-Kagome-Sessomaru-Miroku-Sango or all together. Everybody has a weapon which can slay youkais. Inuyasha’s Meido blade(or maybe the final state of the dragon scaled tetsaiga bec the old man told Inu if he manage to figure out the true power of it the will posses the ultimate weapon) Kagome’s holy arrow, Sessy healing sword(interesting to mention that Shessy was the one who cut apart Naraku’s phisichal body by bakusaiga instead of Inuyasha who was the one that always figured out a way to strenghten tetsaiga to kill Naraku in the anime and manga as well) Sango has the upgradeed boomerang which dismiss the shouki and Miroku has the holy rod and exterminating spells plas the Kazaana which had to be disappeared when Naraku’s body was destroyed by the hand or sword of Shessy but it is still exist so Miroku can use it at the and of the battle. (one more thing if Miroku has the Kazana now after Naraku’s body has destroyed than why in the second movie it was disappeared when they killed Naraku even Naraku was in a cocoon. Never mind)

do you remember that one IY episode called "The jewel maker" those two episodes were based on how you could create a Shikon no Tama combine the spirits of love, friendship,knowledge, and courage with the soul of a priestess and you could create a purified version of the jewel. Ikumo the hanyou said that he could use the IY gang: Inuyasha for courage, Sango for love, shippo for friendship, and Miroku for knowledge, using Kagome's priestess powers. Ikumo wanted to become a human, meaning that if Kagome uses her reawakened miko powers, she could use her soul and her love and friends spirits to create a pure Shikon no Tama and use it against Naraku's defiled one.
