I am wondering why now Naraku is hovering over the Bone Eaters Well. Don't tell me he planned to go there all along. Seeing how it supposedely surpresses demonic power. Wonder if Naraku plans to die in the well but the well pretty much wont surpress the jewel fully.

Hmm.. Mixed thoughts really on this one.

Do you think Naraku succeed completely ? What will be Kagome's fate, now ? Will she die ? Kagome's and Kikyo's souls were not the same !!

I think – because his "intelligent" wish – , Naraku will reborn once again !

However, I remember one important thing : Byakuya said in the 55th novel, that he can use his " meidou Sword " only once !! So, perhap's the Meidou behind Kagome can only work just one time !! So, if Inuyasha-sama, or Sesshomaru-sama can follow her in Hell and save Kagome, maybe itl will be all right once and for all !!

But a question : Is it possible that the manga ends without any death (except Kagomé) ???????  I won't be happy…

Chapter 552: Naraku no shi

Filled with bravery, Kagome stares down Naraku and prepares to fire her purifying arrow at the Shikon Jewel. The arrow vanishes as it flies towards Naraku, just as it had done when Kagome fired at Hitomiko. Inside his giant body, Naraku's body hovers next to the Shikon Jewel near death as Kagome's words echo in his mind, "the Shikon Jewel didn't grant your wish". As he floats alone, Naraku finally admits what he wished for- Kikyo's heart. As the arrow appears next to Naraku in the instant before it strikes, Naraku realizes he will not be able to see Kikyo in the afterlife. The arrow hits and a massive explosion tears the giant spiders remains apart as Inuyasha and Kagome look on. As Naraku is destroyed, the clumps of miamsa that were falling on the village begin to dissperse and vanish. Suddenly a whirlpool of energy flies towards Kagome, nearly hitting her, as Inuyasha quickly pulls her to safety with Miroku and Sango rushing to their side. As the energy wave dissapates, Naraku's head appears, attached only to his spine with the Shikon Jewel hovering in front of him, Kagome's arrow plunged through it's center as he floats over the Bone-Eater's Well. Naraku smiles as energy crackles from the Jewel and tells the group that when Byakuya cut Kagome with his katana, Naraku made his wish, and when he dies it will come true. As his body begins to dissolve, Naraku cryptically says his wish was the same wish the Shikon Jewel wanted… and just as he dies, a Meido vortex opens behind Kagome.

It's like a million times better with words…I would have waited had I known Golden Week was only ONE week. -sigh- It was still an ammmazing chapter though! I can't believe Kagome might die. ;_; Inuyasha will be torn.

Here's my take on things…

Naraku wished for Kikyo's heart. Since Kikyo and Kagome share the same soul, it's like he wished for Kagome's heart. But he's now dead. However, Byakuya's attack is now making a meidou to suck in Kagome so she can join Naraku in the afterlife. This grants Naraku's wish since they can be together forever. I foresee two ways this can go (we know Kagome won't ever go totally away):

1) Kagome dies because they can't live in the afterlife. Inuyasha wants to chase her so he has Sesshomaru create (or guide him on how to) open a meidou to the afterlife to chase after Kagome. He does that and finds Naraku waiting for him. An actual battle ensues (I was disappointed by the "battle" with Naraku in terms of the actual fighting). Inuyasha eventually wins, gets Kagome, and has Sesshomaru bring her back to life.

2) Kagome doesn't die because of her powers, but she still gets trapped by Naraku. The rest is pretty much the same as above, except Kagome is involved and she doesn't need to get brought back to life.

i wish it would have been more exciting…i was actually expecting.. the ancient miko and the demon inside of shikon no tama.. (who r supposed to be locked in an never ending battle inside it).. to reappear and … there would be a huge climax mega battle… with inuyasha and sesshoumaru sama taking the demonic form under pressure… such a battle would have been way cooler…and then enter the current situation… it would have been awwsome.. and i wished i could have seen inuyashas mum and dad.. and sesshoumaru samas mm in the end too….lets see  shrynakesavan(Quote)

but his death was much more….peacful that i exspected. WHY DOES RUMIKO ALWAYS MAKE DEATHS LIKE THT!? I WANTED KIKYO TO HAVE A EXSITING PAINFUL AND CRUEL DEATH (yes tales from a kikyo hater) but i figured since naraku is the bad guy his death would have been more….explosion and exsiting.
ehehe i pictured it like inuyasha uses some kewl new attack and kagome shoots her arrow or somthin and ummm yeah a bunch of other stuff.

And the shikon no tama : Do you really think she disappeared ??? Lol… no, for sure !  So, Naraku is stille alive…

I agree with Geowrian's take on things.  Though I sort of hope Kikyo makes an appearance in the epic battle in the underworld we seem to be heading to.  I think hers was the lamest death so far. 

Hoping maybe she'll re-merge with Kagome?  I mean technically, Kagome is missing part of her soul isn't she?  Even if it is an angst-ridden frowny face priestess.  Would also nicely wrap-up this whole love triangle thing aka "vague relationship."
