Kinda seems like Midoriko and maybe even Kikyo will show up at some point. All three priestesses want the same outcome (more or less)… so maybe a team effort? Plus InuYasha of course.

Isn't Midoriko's soul a part of the Shikon Jewel? I mean, isn't that how it, the jewel, was formed in the first place as she fought demons… she and the demons became the jewel? Memory issues… can't remember entirely.

Didn't Kikyo's soul (or what part she took from Kagome) get returned to Kagome or moved on to the afterlife when she died and evaporated into nothing? I don't think Kikyo's is going to be making a comeback – or if she is it's with Kagome as her reincarnated soul.

GUYS! OMG! You know what? In the beginning of Inuyasha: Affections Touching Across Time, you can catch a quick glimpse of the battle raging inside the jewel. It looks pretty awesome!

If Rumiko ends it this volume, I will literally cry. I'm just not mentally prepared yet! How many chapters do we have left anyways? About five, right? I just finished watching the filler episode, "Shippo Gets An Angry Challenge." It was so kawaii and amazing… We need new anime. >_>

i for one don't like kikyou simply because she caused inu pain

first she dies cuasing inuyasha to be in pain then comes back to life and tries to kill him after sucking out his new girl friend's soul

then she dies again off a cliff causing him to be all weird for a couple chapters

then back to life again only to die and cause him to think she might still be alive causing him to endanger kagome's life which he worries about

to die yet again causing him to shed tears which were originally only for kagome

she attracts turmoil with all her emo skillz

Kagome won't die either cause she is symbolising 'life', since Kikyo was like 'death'. It was my conclusion.

Sukinu- lol, you are talking just like my friend xP, but somehow I'll agree with you. Kikyo was walking 'pain'. She was suffering and she caused pain to the others. I don't hate her, cause in the end she trusted Kagome and let Kaohaku live. Sometimes she did help other people. But I think she was trying to rehabilitate herself for all evil thing she did as a dead man.

Kagome also is not always right, but I don't blame her, she's only 15/ now nearly 16. But she tries to be fair for everyone. I was really impressed how she saved Hitomiko soul. I think Kikyo wouldn't hesitating and would kill her. But I'll come back to the main point.

Shikon tries to mess with her memories. Wonder how will she manage to fight with this awful suggestions. Can't wait for translations.

And yes, and not. Kikyo's Character always aroused in me mixed feelings. I didn't understand her in many scenes, what is she trying to. After resurrection she was walking around still changing her mind, 1st she humiliated Kagome and almost bring Inuyasha to hell, then she wanted to take revenge on Tsubaki if she'd hurt Inu, but she still didn't care for Kagome, cause she was 'only her copy'. Again she was playing with kids after event she tried to kill Kagome, but I guess since Hakureizan she started to somehow help other people in small ways. But still… there was 2 times where she needed Kagome's help. In both situations she seemed to test Kagome, in the 1st time she didn't even say thank you, in the 2cond time her illusions, was a real pain in ass. I swear if I were Kagome, I would let it be… I was really impressed how strong Kagome heart was. She didn't fall for it, and I hope this time she'll do well also.

I think the scene where Kagome heals Kikyou to remove Naraku's shouki from her wound was pivotal for Kikyou's character.

 
Kagome's selfless act in that scene demonstrated clearly which one of them was stronger. Prior to that Kikyou had always looked down on Kagome as being weak and her copy, but after that she seemed realize that Kagome had a power that was innate to her own being and not only that, but that it exceeded hers. So much for being just a copy!

I think a lot of Kikyou's bitterness towards Kagome early on stemmed from jealousy. Right from the beginning she noticed that Inuyasha had changed as a result of being around Kagome. She's bitter about the fact that Kagome stole her thunder in a way. I think her comment was something along the lines of "If I lived I would've been the one to heal the wounds in Inuyasha's heart."

 
So yeah…bit of a pointless ramble…feel free to disagree.

Though this is generally off topic, I'm going to say it anyway.

Those of you who wish for a main character to die, I think its very probable you will get your wish. (to an extent, at least.)

Sesshoumaru's development has been all about compassion, correct? His random and rare acts of kindness are crucial to the development of his character. He is obviously building up to something important here, other than being a character fangirls drool over constantly and providing comic relief  by abusing the oh-so-annoying Jaken. (DAMN IT he just needs to DIE)

now stay with me, because i'm going to confuse you with who i think will die, I swear it is relevant.

Takahashi has been building up this compassion and also acceptance of inuyasha with him the entire series. Inuyasha is constantly proving his strength mentally and physically. Each time Sess sees this he seems to hate him less and less despite Inu's "tainted" blood. I think he's realized how worthy Inuyasha is of the family name.

Now that there is so much at stake it would almost be a let down if we didn't see Inuyasha go down fighting. You can't tell me all this time passes in the warring states and everyone has all their limbs and lives still. (except Kikyo, but damn, she always dies.) I think Sesshoumaru's purpose in this manga is to revive Inuyasha from death, even if it means sacrificing himself.

So really all you had to read was this, Inuyasha dies, Sess revives him (perhaps by sacrificing himself for some unknown circumstance) Now THAT would make a good ending. In my opinion anyway.

Sorry I jump around so much and talk forever. It's just how my thought process goes. What do you guys think?

If Sesshoumaru were to sacrifice his own life for INUYASHA, I'd seriously go berserk! Out of shock and admiration, I mean. That's gonna take some guts for Sess. After all that time hating and fighting with him? Wow, that would be an awesome plot twist…

I really have to think Inuyasha or Kagome will die. But, apparently, Rumiko has a hard time letting her characters die(Kikyo,Kohaku). I doubt they'll be gone for long. But be expecting a time of grieving soon. Particularly, at the end of this volume. D:

Sesshomaru sacrificing himself for Inuyasha? THIS Sesshomaru? Well actually he learned about compassion that's why he was worth Bakusaiga. But Sesshomaru is this kind of bastard who's killing, not sacrificing.  I like in  Sesshomaru his way of ignoring most of things. I don't think this would happen… If it would… I think my stomach would get hurt from laughing.

Inuyasha or Kagome dying? I already said that somehow Kagome is symbol of life, she can't die. Even for a moment. The same goes to Inuyasha what is a point to kill the main character in the end of the story where almost everything was resolved. It would be pointless.

Besides remember it's Rumiko, she likes happy ending. (just like me, and don't mean crappy ending). So I think ending will be satisfying

I have to disagree there, June. There is, actually, a point in killing a main character, even if the resolution involves bringing them back to life. "The only way to find love is to realize it might be lost."

As we know, Inuyasha already holds Kagome very dear to him, but her possible self-sacrifice of either her soul or her ability to travel to the future might lead to strengthen the bond they share. This may be Rumiko's final challenge the duo must overcome.
Not to mention the fact, a main character might have to die in order for the jewel to finally disappear.

Arg. I'm writing a paper on Isaac Newton and watching Ranma 1/2. 0_o harhar Isn't that a weird combo? And, on a random note, OMG lmao I saw the movie Baby Momma last night. It was pretty hilarious! I recommend it to all of you.

Meh, at least I lasted a day . . . XD Wow, and the theories just keep on comin' don't they? I think I've given up on making predictions now. However Rumi decides to end things, it's at her discretion. And if she kills off my favourite characters, then I can happily choose to ignore said death and pretend it never happened at my discretion. That's the great thing about fictional characters. XD

However, if I had to say one thing, it'd be that I really can't see her killing Sesshomaru off. Not because of my enormous crush on him or anything XD, but because I think the focus is shifting primarily toward the two main characters for maximum emotional impact and audience response. Our supporting cast members are safe and whole and have survived Naraku, she's taken our reasons to worry for them away [the Kazaana's been purged, Kohaku's alive, they're all safe], so we can now focus properly on Inuyasha's and Kagome's plight. If Sesshomaru [or any of the others] were to die, I think it'd kind of steal their thunder, or their momentum if you can understand what I'm saying. I do however see Sesshomaru reviving Inuyasha though, because I can totally see Inuyasha as totally willing to sacrifice his life if he thought it would save Kagome's.

Besides, I think RT may be Sesshomaru's biggest fangirl herself. XD For a "peripheral" character, she sure seems to pay him a lot of attention. His character's undergone as much growth and transition as Inuyasha himself, almost. I don't see her killing him off after just having gifted him with a new sword and an arm to boot. Besides, while Rin might survive the trauma of losing him because he would have wanted her to live the second life she was gifted with, I don't think Jaken could ever recover. And I've found I've become quite fond of the little green dude over the course of the series . . . likely because I refuse to listen to him speak in anything other than his Japanese vocal *cringes at thought of english dub Jaken* DX

Well it's my thinking, you do not have to always agree with me (I must say, I was shocked when somebody at least agree with me, cause most likely I'm having an argue on forums with users, and most of them are very stupid). 

But after read so many chapters, after so many plots, stories which passed I wouldn't bet that Inu or Kagome would die. It would be just too cruel for them, knowing how much they have been though, and how much they care for each other. Remember this is also a shounen, and as I know most of titles end up with happy ending. And I read a few Rumiko's titles. That why I don't let 'that' idea to my mind. I guess this is not what will happen. 

 And about Sesshomaru, well maybe he will do some move, but also here I wouldn't be so sure. Naraku died, so most part of the group is free now.
 The only thing left is the Shikon – and it's up to Kagome. I also think she wouldn't fall to trap. She will hesitate till she find a good way out (exit door, lol xP) .

 What would be my wish on shikon no tama? I think the weirdest in the world, and maybe the stupidest… hopefully I'm not Kagome, and it's only manga story. xD

But I say it's only my way of thinking. And I'll wait what Rumiko will give us next. Maybe in meidou will Totousai appear or Myoga, or.. Michael Jackson with moon walk singing one of his songs.. lol… like 'Just beat it' while Inuyasha is fighting with youkai….
 

On my clock is late night, so sorry for my no-seriousness.

Besides, what really matters is what Rumiko lashes out in the end. All of our opinions and "THEORIES"(lolo everyone says that a lot) don't really matter. Very interesting….I found it funny that the Shikon no Tama is trying to MAKE Kagome wish for something….in reality she'd never actually even thought about wishing on the Jewel at all (remember the Shikon Jewel Maker episodes? Whats-his-name actually ASKS Kagome what her wish would be, and her simple and innocent reply was "Well, I wish that we could get all the shards, besides the ones that Naraku has.") At this point the Jewel is so desperate for her to make a wrong decision that it's trying to make a situation where she's almost forced to wish for herself. She's so good it's literally afraid of her.
HAHAHA! Eat it, Jewel! In my opinion Kagome's going to do the right thing. So unless RT decides to do something really horrid (which she might, knowing her,) Inuyasha is going to get to her long before she worries about herself. I'm crossing my fingers at least.
As for Kikyo, my God. She's the Lazarus of manga. I wish RT would just give it a rest. No pun intended.

I'll wait for you Starks.  The wish intriques me.  I wonder if RT is going to bring this full circle with the original wish Kikyo suggested.  Remember, and of course I may have this wrong, but I believe Kikyo felt if Inuyasha wished to become human the jewel would be purified.  It makes sense, it would be a wish for less power instead of more and based on love.  To sacrifice power in the name of love might be just what would defeat the jewel.  Just a thought.

So the first spoiler was a dud. Cuz I didn't see any of that in this chapter.

I see two things happening:

1. Kagome makes the right wish and foils the Tama's plot. Or…

2. Inuyasha reaches Kagome and talks some sense into her/calms her down + make the right wish

I predict it will be the latter but I don't think it'll happen till at least after 557 or later.

Is Kagome really afraid of the darkness (a la Mendo Shutaro) or is the youkai just expressing itself figuratively?

And then, I realise one thing : Kagomé will be fighting against Youkais (demons) into the Jewel, if she wish on it… so, Maybe it's exactly like Midoriko. The past will be repeated if Kagomé lose to Darkness and the Jewel… It's like JUST BEFORE the battle with Midoriko. So, if she can win, Midoriko will win, too.

And the Jewel is lieing ! It said : " One one IS COMING ". That's wrong, we know !!!! So, perhaps Naraku is using the Jewel to speak with Kagomé-kikyo ??? Perhaps !!!
