You know how it kept asking, "So you will stay here?" and "What is your wish?". It seems that it could be one of two things, 1: Midoriko is testing Kagome to see if she will make the right wish or not, but I don't think that one is really it, so in that case I present idea 2: Midoriko is trying to get Kagome to make the selfish wish so that Kagome will take her place so that she can move on. I know "Midoriko was a great Miko and wouldn't ever want something like that!" But remember that she has been battling for centuries against youkai and now she finally has a chance out. The whole "spiritual person falling to the 'dark side'" happened before with the Monk who was supposed to have become a living Buddha for the people in the Mt. Hakurei arc, so I think it is plausible. Then again, I don't have the slightest idea what is flying around in RT's head, so I am probably wrong.
