That said, I LOVE Inuyasha's monologue on page 14. 

 
The first thing that popped into my head when I finished the chapter was that Kagome's wish would reunite Kikyou and Inuyasha.   (And I would really appreciate it if we could just kill one good character and leave them dead.  I think Kikyou would also appreciate it.)  The wish Kagome is thinking of is clearly something selfless, since she wonders how it will affect her as an afterthought.

 After some further thought, I think that's unlikely.  Just because an act is selfless doesn't make it 'right', and there is a lot more good that could be accomplished.  So now I don't understand the reference to Kikyou at all.   she merely wanted to see Inuyasha one more time - Is this supposed to mean that this was Kikyou's wish on the jewel?   I don't remember this being referenced before. (but I guess that's what happens when you've got ten thousand pages of canon to keep track of)

If this was the Anime, It would have been altered in some messed up way where he says something like "SHES MY BEST FRIEND" Or something as bad as that. What a fantastic chapter. And this, like the last one, was gorgeously drawn wasn't it? If my favourite panel in the last one had to be Kagome's family and friends listening to Inuyasha in the empty well-house, my favourite of this one was Inuyasha's reaction to the monstrousities' proclamation about Kagome. He got so ANGRY, it was awesome. ^o^ Damn, I love those fangs!

And we got to hear from [some of] the others! <3 Time is still going on past the other side of the well! No time-warp/continuum breakdown, woohoo! And then to top that, we got to see Midoriko! I literally gasped – she's one of my favourite characters. And on top of that, NARAKU! O.O Omg, I live in fear of his reanimation. Please, RT, let sleeping spiders lie. I'm done with him. I think we're all done with him.

@Ginger, the reference to Kikyou was just a summarization of the others who have made a wish on the jewel so far: Kikyo, Naraku, and now, Kagome. ^_^ I hope she doesn't make any kind of wish on it though. Maybe that's how to break it's pattern, I dunno. *shrugs* Kagome's wish [the one she hints at near the end of the chapter] could perhaps be to wish that the jewel was destroyed, in which case it would make sense that she'd be scared about what might happen to her, seeing as she's inside the bloody thing. But once she realises Inuyasha is trapped in there with her, I don't reckon she'd be willing to risk it. Neither he nor she are willing to risk the other's life. What can you do, that's love. ^_^

This is the second time I'm coming across the selfless wish scenario. Err- anyone ever seen Fushigi Yuugi ending? The selfless wish that Miaka made despite the fact that she wanted to remain with Tamahome?

I am really hoping for something new from Rumiko sensei. Something extraordinary. I don't think I'd be happy if Kagome went the Miaka way. Maybe Inuyasha joining her might influence her decision.

This chapter was great, but that cliffhanger… jeez, I gotta wait another week, but I think Kagome wouldn't be trapped, cause she is the last person who would do selfish wish. She was considering return to her own home, but she knew also that Shikon can't grant every wish. And judging from her face, I think this wish was sad and in some way It could bring some sacrifices. What it was? Beats me…

And I was happy about Inu's declaration… wonder if it also bring another 'consequences'.

I almost felt like crying when Inuyasha finally summarized everything that makes Kagome such a wonderful person. It was so touching.

"Kagome was born to meet me!"

I think that's the best confession of love I've ever heard! 'I love you' is a bit too cliche…though I hope we get him to confess to her and not to the monsters in the jewel.

I have been thinking for a long time that Kagome's wish might be that none of this mess with the Jewel ever happened, and that Inuyasha and Kikyo had never been seperated fifty years ago. But, to tell you the truth, I think that Inuyasha wouldn't be okay with that wish. He loved Kikyo, and still does, but he loves Kagome, and I don't think he could live without her.

(I don't think that InuKag is shit by the way…they are fun to make fun of sometimes…but they are not shit!)

Anyway, who knows how this could go. I would've painted a mustasche and some other things on Naraku's face while he was out cold…Inuyasha didn't take advantage of a fine oppurtunity!

Can't wait for next week! Question: Sengoku Jidai, or the Future? Or both? I'd like to see what you all think at this point.

omg what a chapter that was. Its getting so exciting were so close to the end now i can taste it. And it looks like kagome has figured out the jewel and knows the right wish. So hopefully that is a good sign and her and inuyasha will end uo together. Hopefully in the sengoku era. But it looks like it wasnt the end of naraku after all it was like we all expected that it was to easy to defeat him. So he will prolly awaken and inuyasha and kagome will have one last battle with him inside the shikon no tama.

If the next chapter is Inu&Kag talking for a few pages, then Kagome making a wish,  then we've got a chapter & a half to figure out the after effects  and wrap everything up.  And there really aren't too many loose ends anymore.  So yes, I think it can be done.  On the other hand, RT could decide to throw in a couple more plot twists and stretch it out for another volume; I wouldn't put it past her.

 
A thought for me: where the hell is Sesshomaru?  Apparently some time has passed since we last saw him, and he's not the type to stand off in the wings waiting like everyone else.

I can honestly say I have no idea what chapter that was. XD But I'm pretty sure I remember it being alluded to that when Kikyo died [the first time around, that is] she brought the jewel because some part of her still wanted to follow Inuyasha into the next world or something . . . poetic like that. o_0 Hang on. Let me think. Umm . . . Or was it the wish she was going to make when they were young and in love? Ummm . . . Nope, I can't remember. Er, yeah. Well. I'm, ah, still pretty sure that was what was going on in that scene there in any case. It was just a quick comparison/run-down of the people who've wished on the jewel so far. Yeah.

I agree, I wouldn't put it past that woman . . . in fact I'm seriously suspecting RT of hiding an extra can of worms up her sleeve. There's a couple of loose ends going on when you think about it, plus the impossibility of wrapping the story up in what's left of this volume alone. Where Kagome ends up, past or present, if she makes it out in one piece. What about Kagome's family if it somehow turns out she gets stranded on the feudal side of the well? And what if she doesn't? What if the well returns, how's that going to work? What of the fate of the jewel?

And YES, where's Sesshomaru gone?? T_T The way he's temporarily disappeared gives me the sort of feeling that we might be in for another arc – he always vanishes off with his motley lil crew for a while before coming back to ring in the new storyline with style. XD Kidding. Or maybe he's gone off to track down Byakuya? We don't know where HE vanished off to, either!

Not only that, but I want at least some semblance of epilogue-type content. Even a hint. I still wonder what'll become of good ol' Koga-kun, wherever he is.

Sesshomaru is in Vegas he'll be back soon I hope.  No idea what's going to happen though I'm sure Kagome will be returned to her family somehow.  I just can't see RT leaving her in the feudal era, that would kill her mother ( it would kill me!).  I thought the confession was beautifully done.  The way Inuyasha described what they were to each other really summed up their relationship.  Somehow, I really think this time RT has come up with a great ending and I can hardly wait.

My whole theory was that Inuyasha wishing himself human was the right wish, but now with the "what would happen to me" thing if Kagome made the right wish, my faith lies in the theory that the right wish is to wish that the jewel may have never existed but then Kagome and Inuyasha would never have met and that's… BAD!!! *anxiety attack*

Though I have to admit, Inuyasha actually showing some love to Kagome is impressive. He finally is living up to the fact that Kagome kicks Kikyo's reincarnated ass in relationships. I hope that plays on my theory of wishing that the jewel never existed…

I'm foreshadowing some definite self-sacrifice by Kagome. I hope the wish she makes to purify the jewel doesn't wind up getting her killed. We all know Inuyasha loves Kagome. So, Kagome dying while Inuyasha cries his heart out will not solve anything at this point. And, I believe, Inuyasha doesn't need to grieve with all that anger and sadness anymore. He already feels mongo guilt with Kikyo's recent death. Kagome's death would just rip him to shreds. He's already suffered enough. Come on, Rumiko! Let the couple live in peace!

I'm so nervous for the ending. My heart just won't stop beating… >_> lolololo I meant, it won't stop pounding. I definitely wouldn't want my heart to stop beating.

I don't think wishing the jewel to never have existed in the first place would do any good. Although a lot of bad has happened because of it, a lot of good happened too. Erasing the jewel would erase the past and that would solve nothing. Especially since so many of the potential bad things have righted themselves (i.e. Kohaku is alive, Miroku's curse is broken, Kikyo is finally at peace, etc.)

I think, if anything, it would make more sense for Kagome to with for the jewel to just stop existing. I guess her fear, then, would be what would happen to her. Didn't she get stuck on the other side of the well when InuYasha took the jewel from her and sent her home? She couldn't get back through without the jewel. I don't know if that would really bring her so much fear though… a whatever… that's my guess.

That said, I'm still hoping for some deaths (maiming, heartbreak, or mild disfigurement would also suffice). I'm looking for the closure of a, hopefully, decent ending.
