Unmei no Tori

Filed under: Random — Starks at 5:21 am on Monday, February 23, 2009

In case you haven't heard, Rumiko is still working on her Rumic Theater project and is publishing her newest installment this March 5th in Big Comic Original called "Unmei no Tori" (運命の鳥 Bird of Fate). Details are sparse regarding this brand new one-shot, but we do have a cryptic little preview to wrap our brains around:

"The great modern recession that you couldn't see coming. Have you ever wondered… If you could know if the future holds happiness for you or…?"

Sources: Rumic World and Anime News Network

Edit: Assuming Rumiko doesn't break with tradition, Unmei no Tori will be 32 pages in length and contain no furigana. Thanks Dylan.

Edit 2: Yes. I am in need of a translator for this one-shot. ^__^;

What about it? There's no new material.

I think I'll skip out on this one, depending on what new details we receive.  I haven't completely given up on Takahashi, but this doesn't really pique my interest at all.  I wonder if she's going to go the supernatural route again (not to the level of Inuyasha, however).

Cornbread, it's a one-shot. Why not spend 20 minutes of your time and read it?

I assume this means that, given the opportunity, you will scanlate this.

Given a translator (or free-to-use script) and availability of Big Comic Original at Kinokuniya, I will make an attempt to scanlate.

Of course, I am not committing to anything at the time.

With regard to scanlating Rumiko's next big project, I'm 90% sure I won't be scanlating it and I am 99.99999999% sure if I do scanlate it, I will not be not be scanlating it through to the end.

Eh, since you put it that way, maybe I will give it a shot.  Other than Berserk and Full Metal Alchemist, I'm not reading any other comics.

I'm looking forward to this. I've enjoyed every Rumiko manga she has made so far.

I seriously wonder how she does it.
Thanks for posting.

Will the one-shot be available here on the site?

Since it's gonna be published in BCO (and not Shonen Sunday), the demographic for this story is seinen. So it will probably not sit will with the younger IY audience.
Personally, I would like to see how it is. For those who don't know, Rumic Theater is a fine series. With a lot of adult themes and real-life situations.

I'm really curious about how many pages this will be. My mind tells me that 30-100 pages are to be expected.
