Episode 2 Kagura's death (Chapter 374)
Episode 8 is Kikyo's death (Chapter 465).
How in the hell does anyone place 90+ chapters worth of material into 5 episodes?! I don't understand! At this rate, it'll take another 10 episodes to "complete" InuYasha.
Oh how I hate the rushing.

A commenter noted above that we should stop complaining so the producers will want to finish the animation.
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they finish the animation back in late spring and then bring out the announcement for fall 2009? (and are now just airing IY while preparing for their next project?)

@CLOVER

I stand by my statements. I will not repeat them because typing is hell. And as for you I can say that THE ANGER TOWARDS SUNRISE ANIMATION IS JUSTIFIED and I RECOMMEND AS MANY PEOPLE ON THIS SITE THE CONACT THE STUDIO BY PHONE OR EMAIL ABOUT THESE RUSHED EDITS.

The chapters that were ARE VERY VERY CRUCIAL TO THE PLOT. They are a further insight on the elements that make themselves known to the overall presentation.

You may not see it CLOVER but we all do. The only thing that came out is how broken hearted we are to see that a great story that left us on a damn cliff hanger that in anime form NOT MANGA doesnt have very long to reach its anime end.

People like you dont even seem to understand that people should NOT have perspectives on HOW the story is told, just as long as they HAVE A STORY.

What I am trying to say is that for some reason there appears to be a divide between Anime AND Manga fans. I am of a different THIRD party, I am someone who enjoys what Inuyasha throws at me when i am seeing new storytelling for the FIRST TIME.

Watching the anime feels like a predicatble adaptation, however there are filler elelments of the anime that could HAVE BECOME a part of the core story SUCH AS Ayame, or how Goryomaru's death and apparent revival could've been elaborated WHICH WAS NOT, how Naraku will get new spider powers as it he will be shown with it DEEPER into the story, how the 30 MINUTE OVA of Black Tessaiga will be animated (Good god that anime came last year, and im strongly hoping Sunrise doesnt condense it into 20 minutes)

Basically theres IMPORTANT elements to question in the future of the execution of this show. Its good that the anime is back but the RESULT is NOT WORTH THE COST if the job is batched, rushed, and SEVERLY LIMITED one, but basically the persepctive is 50/50

At the pace this anime will continue, this show is what will DESTROY THE FANBASE, well worse than those stupid Kagome/Kikyo arguments fangirls and boys are always bringing up.

For me as a critic and a person I was pissed when the anime ended but I calmed down and learned of the MOST LOGICAL REASON. All that material you watched came from the damn MANGA. I didnt whine about the anime since it ended. The most logical and healtier thing to do was to get into the manga and finish reading the storyline for people dwelling on the matter of being left at an anime cliffhanger.

Anime or Manga: The story WAS basically the same until Episode 167 and Chapter 356. Now both continuites have DIVIDED to an unbelievable extent OF ONE OF THE HIGHEST ORDERS.

Basically if an anime doesnt continue than READ THE DAMN MANGA. Because its about the STORY CONTENT, not the means of its media. THATS how Inuyasha became an anime in the first place.

Given the content of episode 2, I'm pretty much convinced at this point that Tokijin will break before Kagura dies.

And it's gonna be hard for some to accept the rapid pace b/c the original anime was almost an exact reproduction of the manga (page by page; the fillers not included). They might have shifted certain arcs back or changed the sequence a little (like the peach man arc) but it's was in it's entirety an exact replica, so we really have to continue watching before any solid conclusion might be made. Perhaps they might revisit chapters they've skipped? I won't say there's no possibility (:

They had a good 5 years to decide on when the anime should be restarted and a whole year to try condensing the story properly. It wasn't too bad a job I'll say, but I don't really understand why they only planned 26 episodes, or they were probably only given 26 episodes (slots) and had to work with it. If the latter's true, then I'm absolutely fine b/c they are pretty much restrained, otherwise, I'll say it just really isn't any good foresight or planning on their part.

I'm really getting angry about all these complaints about the anime pacing too fast. You're damn right I'm over appreciative! I'm actually way, way, way, overly over appreciative! I've been a fan of Inuyasha since my freshman year and seeing the last episode of Inuyasha disheartened me. I felt so unsatisfied and as if I was hanging on by a thread. I almost gave up hope and then I hear Inuyasha is finally finishing, just what I've been wanting for so long and now, everyone's complaining.

Personally, I didn't see a damn thing wrong in the episode. I thought the pacing was just perfect. The anime before was drawing out things way, way too slow. It's nice for the anime to finally pick up its speed. Besides, the chapters the anime apparently skimmed over, aren't that crucial to the plot anyway. If the anime skipped your favorite chapters, oh well, some of mine have been skipped too and I'm hoping one of my absolute favorite arcs won't be skipped either, but if it happens then it happens. Just go back and read the chapter, that's what I suggest.

Sorry if I'm coming off rude, but I worry that all this complaining will make the creators feel discouraged and then they won't continue. I speak the truth when I say Inuyasha the Final Act is not at all such a horrible anime as you guys are making it out to be.

Yes the anime seems to be oh shall we say in the famous words of Tpain "chopped and screwed". However, I am totally glad that they are finishing Inuyasha. I wanted an ending to the anime and I kicked and screamed until I got it and now it's here. Albeit that wasn't quite what I meant but I didn't want the anime to drag out until my children were born either so I had always assumed that if they brought the anime back that it would in fact have parts and pieces cut out. I refuse to be upset over them skipping and combining chapters because I can't remember some of them anyway! For the ones that I did remember I pretended to be blissfully unaware that they had done anything to the anime. Of course while I was watching I had to make sure I kept my eyes pinned open because if I blinked I probably would have missed several chapters. As I watched it I continued to wonder if I needed to push the play button because I could have sworn that it was on fastforward. However, I look forward to Saturday and will continue to do so despite the fact that Sesshoumaru will have acquired Meidou Zangetsuha with the three quarter circle next weekend! I'm being sarcastic but if they don't slow down that's where they'll be. Anyway I'm a life time Inuyasha fan and no matter how the anime plays itself out I will watch every weekend on the edge of my seat with popcorn in hand. The worst that it will do is make me look back at the manga and improve my CSI skills :)
